Muzzy too loud - help
06/18/13 9:48 PM

Just bought a zx-14 Sunday that has Muzzy M10 and it's a bit too loud. It's way too loud actually. Love everything about the bike - just too loud. Any ideas on how to quiet it down some? There are 3 hex bolts at the end of the canister so maybe I can buy something to replace what's inside? There are 3 hex bolts at the end of the canister so I can get to whatever's inside ( I think ).

2006 with Schnitz Racing velocity stacks, PC3, speedo healer, dropped one tooth, full Muzzy M10, dyno tuned, flies out, etc. Muffler will wake up all the neighbors for sure. Need to quiet it down some.

Ideas??

Thanks guys

Check with Muzzy, a lot of aftermarket exhaust manufactures offer a "db killer" insert to reduce the noise generated by the exhaust.

Also, depending on how old the muffler is, it might need to be repacked.

1.35 litre engine with a 200mm silencer. I don't think there is a whole lot that can be done there "quiet-wise".

Just heard back from Muzzy. Their re-pack kits for the M10 are $26.95 so I'll get one of those.
