Anyone live near Long Beach, CA? I haven't lived that area for over 20 years, so I'm sure it changed.

Trying to get a job with the VA Medical Center there in Long Beach. Probably a pretty rough gig. I'm sure the rent would be rough.

Not sure yet, blue07. They don't give the address, only say VAMC Long Beach. Are you talking about two VAMCs or 1 VAMC and one CBOC (community based outpatient clinic) ?

Usually there is only one VA Medical Center within a hundred miles, but lots of CBOCs.

I live about 2 hours north of Long Beach. It's been awhile since I've been in that area but I believe that it is pretty rough or maybe just older or not kept up looking. My co-worker owns a condo in Long Beach (I don't know where) and his college age kids live in it and go to CSULB. He likes the area and he said he would live down there.
