immobilised!
09/07/15 5:07 AM

bike started as normal yesterday, rode about 80 miles, had 2 stops along the way, restarted both times as normal, got into city center, let bike cut out as i mounted a kerb to park, fan was running, i hit the starter button and bike turned over lazily, did not start, so i knocked off ignition, turned it on again, hit starrter and it started,
came back to bike half hour later, started no problem, rode to a friends, turned over starter a couple of times, and yes, it seemed just a little lazy, as i went to leave friends a few hours later, bike started no problem at all,but i kept an eye on volt meter, usually held steady at 14.4v but was a little bit erratic, reached 14.7 and dipped down to 11.9, but for the most part it stayed about 14.4 /14.2
stopped for fuel, started no problem, met up with a few friends after local road races, went to leave after an hour, no joy, key symbol on dash, bike immobilised, tried it a few times, no different, left key in igition for 10 min, tried again, Joy! it started, no key symbol
rode to another place, tried ignition 3 times, each time no key symbol, fuel pump primed.
went to leave 2 hours later, key symbol again,
this time it stayed, no luck, had to push the bike a bit to get it somewhere safe/off the street
after a few attempts not only did i have a key symbol but also the power mode/ traction mode displays were flashing, which the manual tells me is fuel injection system,
tried to turn over motor, it was very lazy but still turning, only turned it over may 2 or 3 revoloutions, it wasnt my efforts that killed battery,
have not go back to bike yet today, im hoping low voltage /fuked battery is my problem, possibly charging system has gone wonky
hopefully its not an immobiliser ecu problem
at no stage did a battery warning light appear, maybe its no the charging system... ill update later after i get to the bike and get a charger on it see does it recognise key

Inspect all of your electrical connections. Could just be a corroded post or grounding point.
