New Guy in Georgia...
12/13/09 11:40 PM

Hey guys,
I just bought an '06 ZX-14 the other day, and WOW what a bike! It's been raining quite a bit lately and cold as all getout, so I haven't been able to ride much...only like 20 miles worth on her, but it's an amazing machine. It has a full Muzzy 4-1 exhaust, and power commander...that's the only mods I have been able to find so far. I came from riding a VTX1800c to the 14; less weight, and tons more acceleration. I look forward to meeting and talking to a lot of folks on the board, so some of you guys reply to my thread and let me know where you're located so maybe we can meet up one day and talk about some bike stuff. I really want to learn more about the bike, and there's nothing wrong from learning from someone with experience...I'm living in Rome, so especially if you're anywhere nearby give me a holler.

This is an awesome forum, lots of great information here...this board is actually what caused me to get the ZX, because it answered almost all of the questions I was wondering. So thanks guys for being so helpful to everyone, I'm sure I'll be needing some advice pretty soon, so just go ahead and get ready haha.

Looking forward to hearing from you guys!

Matt

Welcome to the site. I am also pretty new to the site. Posted a couple times over the last 2 months. Hell I won't even have my bike for another month but anyway. I was in Rome last year around June to watch a friends son who plays baseball for one of the Ray's single A ball clubs from Bowling Green KY. They were playing the Rome Braves. Small town full of pretty women. Some really cool roads to ride that new bike on. Good luck.

Good to have you on the seen I have notice that you can find a lot of good of information on the forum. I have 09' SE Orange / Black ZX14. I have mines since July 09, have not really OPEN HER UP like I wanted to. I was hoping to get one more good day of riding in before it got really cold, but it looks like that is it for the riding season. Now it is time for the next step, which is to make mod. to it. By the way I live in Atlanta, so hoping to see you one day. Be safe out there.

Hey there and welcome to the forum! I too find this place to be an absolute God-send for all things ZX-14. I'm over here in Huntsville, AL. We go to Atlanta (in-laws live there) on occasion and sometimes take 35 through Rome. I used to live in Marietta for a couple of years while serving. Perhaps the Carrollton, Rome and Atlanta "pilots" can all meet up somewhere some time for a bite to eat or something when it warms up. I'm buying more and more touring-type accessories for my girl so I'll not have any issues with 200+ mile trips. Heck, I'd do it now as-is but little things can sure make all the difference.

Did you have anything before the VTX? How long have you been riding? Post pics when you can. I'm waiting on a warm enough day to take some good ones of mine. I have the same bike as Stephens09.

Loaded, we usually ride all over eastern Alabama. Hit Mt cheaha on a regular basis. We'll have to hook up some time.

I am in the Huntsville area also. Would love to hook up with you guys sometime. Maybe we can have a Mount Cheaha get together. I posted on here earlier we are having a rally at Deals Gap April 8 thru 11 at Iron Horse Camp Ground in Robinsville N.C. It would be killer to hook up. We will be camping. Loadedmind, go to the "Hitch" Topic in this forum and you can see my thoughts on long distance riding.
