I have a 2007. I never took it in for the recall because I own a torque wrench and can read. The tech bulletin was a snap to follow and I inspect my frame any time I am around that spot. Besides, I've swapped motors this year anyway... really no point in wasting time at dealership until I sell it. That said, I do worry about mine cracking from time to time... could happen, right? I wondered how many 06/07 frames actually broke? Seems we only really heard of 2 or maybe 4? Anyone take a count? or even better, has an official Kawasaki statistic? Are we absolutely certain the frame breakage was over torque related? Anyone got some new data?

I took mine into the dealer, had the inspection done and then quietly forgot about it, you can worry yourself to death over nothing. I haven't heard anything in a long time about the frame breakage, last I had heard there were 11 frames cracked out of 11,000 that were imported. If your torque was within spec I don't think you have anything to worry about, if there was a problem we would know about it.

CYCHO, thanks for bringing this up. I had been wondering the same thing lately, as I never took my '06 in for the recall - the card has been on my fridge since it came in the mail. Anyone have any updates?

Mine is doing fine...she's an 07...and I had er checked back when the recalls came out.IF your baby was ON THE LIST...I would recommend getting her cleared.Just so YOU know.

Oh, I don't really worry about it. I only think of it when I do work on the bike that gives me a view of the frame area in question. Otherwise I ride it like I stole it.

I followed the tech bulletin plus used the new torque specs for the motor swap.. it's a piece of cake.

Mostly I just wanted an update on the numbers or any other tech info about cause etc. 11 cracked frames total.. hardly even worth mentioning.
