It's only a bad idea if shortening the pipe makes it produce less power in the range you're tuning for. Shorter pipes generally run better at higher rpm than longer pipes and vice versa.

Bad idea = If you do not have a backup stock set to replace it.

Good idea = I had to find out for myself is to find out how bad the bottom end dropped off at the Grayhound station, bought a ticket and took off.

Lol! Smat, I will let you take a closer look at my work this weekend while we're all cruising Bear Mountain. I've got the rig all waxed, packed and ready to leave home tomorrow!

Whether or not I lost some grunt I don't really know. If I have, it can't be much cause I can't tell the difference. There are also some internal modifications(as per Hub's sugestions) that hopefully are keeping the power as close to stock as possible. Dynos ain't cheap and as long as its running correctly I don't give a shit. It will still whoop most any bike out there.

I like the silver parts painted black too. Blends it into the bike better. But ya, can't wait to see and hear them.
