Hello from Tucson
10/11/13 9:27 AM

Bought a ZX-14 earlier this week and I think it's gonna be the best bike I've owned. I had a few liter bikes before this one. My last bike was a ZX-10. I'm starting to get too old for the small track bikes. I had it narrowed down to a V-Rod and a ZX-14. Both were about 15k but I was leaning towards the 14. A week ago I walked into a small town Kawi dealership and they had a brand new 2010 ZX-14 on the floor for mid 9s. I couldn't get the credit card out of my wallet fast enough.

I've only had time to ride around the block so far. Two things I noticed. The clutch on this bike engages all the way up. I saw the adjustment on the lever but haven't adjusted it yet. I had racing levers on my R1 that made a huge difference. Just wondered what was available for this bike? On the gas tank there is a warning about the octane. Is it worth it to use octane boost?

No, it'll run just fine with 87 octane.
Welcome aboard.

Was out all day yesterday and this morning. This bike is way better than my ZX-10. Like the adjustments for the clutch and brake levers.

Your gonna love it. Pazzo or ASV makes quality aftermarket levers. I had Pazzo's on my 07 ZX14 and I have ASV's on my 12 ZX14r. They both are great. I run 89 octane and the bike runs great.
