1. Messing with the ECU voids the factory warranty. Yes.
2. Does this leave a data trail that a shop would see? No. It's like flushing the toilet
3. If I chose to just send my ECU somewhere, i take it out send it off for a street map, tell them about my slip ons and thats it? I dont need anything else, nothing else to buy? Dude, 2 years of warranty and if that's a kawi contract, you might blow 2 years of warranty just to get your ballscratched.
Either commit or get off the pot. If some code light comes on and can't be removed you are screwed both in tune and warranty: so wait. If that code was removed and you go to the dealer the next day or so, yes, saved in memory so a tech can chase the last trouble code and decipher from there. So it's more or less a yes and no for #2.
Either commit to the itch or play out the money already spent? For #3, it's a little more involved about what you think is a street map and your slips are taken care of. C showed the list that is done, or select from the list so you have your street whatever? Figure out what you want to do first. It's like saying a tickle to a scratching there of. What and how much do you want it keeps going this tuning crap.
Either you have a very well tuned bike that gets the best gas mileage or you stop a lot you go scratching a lot. Could you live with a pig that is removable for 2 years you can select autotune and have the best of both worlds during a 2 year span, or something goes wrong and it sure is not the pig changing a tune.
Flash wise, I would not touch a brand new bike and have that added to the variable under warranty. The slips are not related to warranty if it's an engine or fueling problem. Pulling pipe or plugging hose does not cause a mechanical or electrical failure in other words. That kind of stuff is under warranty. You scratching up the OE parts is your dime. Breaking off plastic tabs is your dime. Tagging valves at a higher rpm with a flash is your dime.
Flash wise, the parts are made to meet or exceed a hp rating or they'd be popping like flies on a fairing in a TT race. If that engine blows, it would have blown if not flashed. JMO. Your only problem here is time and money. Was it money well spent you jump in the lake with the rest or wait it out you pissed away the 500.00 warranty money, or do I have that reversed?

NOLTT
