Hmmmmm....Quite a bit of rider advantage there I'm thinking. That guy obviously knows the track like the back of his hand, possibly a local going by the fact that he's posted the vid in French. Sure I saw at least one 1198 out there. Don't get me wrong, the 14R is probably the most capable bike for it's size by a long way and I love mine to bits but, given riders of equal ability, there's NO WAY it's going to creme an 1198 on ANY track you care to mention. The real beauty of the 14 for me personally is it's tremendous allround ability. Anything from respectable trackday activity to long distance touring. Had a nice 'day out' on mine a couple Sundays ago. 798 miles and it was a breeze. Wouldn't have even attempted that on the Duc or any other litre sports bike for that matter. JMO

of course he kills on the straightaway. I can do that against trackbikes on my Gen1. In all fairness, most of the riders are cornering quite slowly by their body positioning. No one is getting a knee down. That last guy looks like he is moving at a good speed and he is managing to hang on in the corners. When the track gets straight, bye-bye!

...not taking a thing away from the 14r or that rider. That is some commendable riding for a big bike. I just have to say that I think things would be a little different if the guy was riding in a high level class. My guess is he is a pro whp wisely chose Beginner class because it was a first time track excursion on his new 14r.

Notice the cold stare into the turn as to precisely set myself up for the next move....the perfect body postition prepared to flik the bike into the mind boggling 70 degree lean....my right hand skillfully trail braking the turn all the while preparing to crack the throttle open on that herd of horses sitting between my Clydesdale experienced legs. It's enough to make your average man just lay his bike down and raise his hands in the air!! You get the picture. ROFLMFAO!!!!

2012 sail by most any of the other bikes on the straitaway. The race at the end...I'm not even aware that the guy wants to race until I've already upshifted and I still pulled ahead. I had to let up because I did not want to risk the corner with that rider ahead of me.

Rook is dead on. My older 09 14 before my new one would walk any older 1000 I raced pretty dam easy. And out of the latest bikes on the street only the busa gen2, bmw, and the newer zx10 flashed will give it trouble. Thats it. And even then a better rider on the 14 wins it in my opinion. And I have a feeling rook can ride!!!!!

oh---might have been my angel looking out for me cuz there was supposed to be at least one more lap..but somebody crashed and we all were waved off track. But yep, I would have been well prepared to get a comfortable lead as long as there was enough clear track ahead of us. Looks like that guy was very committed the way his rear end is hopping under braking. I don't know if I want to win that bad but the nice thing with the 14 is you don't need to. that's not really what track riding is supposed to be about but by the last run, some people get a little frisky.

It was about the most memorable and exciting thing I have ever done in my life. Better than the first time getting laid, even. but like loosing your virginity, you better be damn careful with that big old rocket or a wonderful experience might just get you in big trouble. I could have crashed when I went into the grass. Thank God they have a lot of very flat grass, no boulders and not too many trees. Black Hawk Farms was an actual farm many years ago.

I plan to take a track course here before long.

Should be alot of fun and really helpful with street riding. from what I've heard so many others say its well worth it

Track course smack course, they are going to teach me about line, lean and corner entry and exit. I am not sure how much these track courses do to emboss our skills. My philosophy, get the knee down and ride hard. Twist of the wrist is good too. Or I recommend taking CBlast out, there's a homie that can burn rubber!

I love the idea of having a skilled track rider access my present riding style/habits and let me know what I need to improve upon in order to get the most enjoyment outta these two bikes I've spent so much $$ on! I have not

I am not sure how much these track courses do to emboss our skills.

Track day or track riding class, that provides learning in big steps. None of us can ride that fast for 15 minutes straight. We'd end up in jail within a few weeks. Street riding is the same techniques but you have to grab your moves one at a time when it is safest. The environment on a closed course is MUCH less likely to cause injuries if you crash so you can push your limits more than you would on the street. Track riding is very expensive...but you get to keep all the cool track stuff you accumulate. With street riding you might just see the cash evaporate into tickets and insurance.

I always marvel at the beautiful BIG sweepers on the highways and hope to take them at triple digits some day, somehow. There is no track like that. The highways through wide open country is yet another environment. HAs its own risks.
