Let me preface a little.
I have been riding since I was 8 and my dad taught me to change my own oil, and have for all my bike since (unless it was getting scheduled mileage service, in which case I just let them do it then).
The 1st time I changed the oil in the 14 was 600 mile, with standard Kawi oil/filter. 1k miles later I dropped some synthetic/filter and it shifted so damn hard! really knotchy. With only 100 miles on it I switched back to regular oil/filter and it rode good for about 500-1000 miles then started to get chucky on me again.
Fast forward some life gets in the way yada yada I get to ride a little every now and then, mainly to work and back...and my bike falls over (we've already had that discussion) but while riding it to the shop I couldn't belive how smooth it was shifting at all rev ranges! WTF??
Please tell me I don't have to bust up my bike everytime I change the oil haha.
Any thoughts?
BTW, when I change my oil I always put some in the filter before I put it on... I have heard Kawi's have a air/vacuum issue sometimes, really bad in the Ninja 1000's.
