Fairing Weight
06/03/26 1:19 PM

Anyone know the weight of the gen2 fairings minus headlights?
how heavy are front and rear turn signals?
how heavy is the brake light?

I need to buy a scale...

Looking at a one-piece fairing. weighs ~5 lbs. Curious what the real weight savings are. Also not liking how all my fairings squeak on every bump.

This would allow for front turn signals to be removed as well as full headlight removal.
This fairing has an option for the intake hole to be blocked off. Which I imagine is good for aero. 6 bolts total to have the entire front-end off is a nice idea. One bolt by the frame and two on the mirror stay for each side. I've seen some led projectors bolted to race fairings like this to keep a light on the front of the bike. SO night riding isnt out of the picture.

Here is a tail-piece as well. No turn signal or brake light holes. I could add lights back to the bike using some tiny plastic trailer lights. Hard to tell, but I am guessing 4 bolt holes for it.

I will weigh them all soon (fairly soon). I may be using a fish scale for the side/lower fairings. I have a Salter mail scale for smaller stuff. It's about 50 bucks. https://www.amazon.com/Brecknell-Electronic-Shipping-Capacity-Platform/dp/B002XJNDNC

I'll be removing my headlights and weighing them soon. OEM tail light too and front and rear turn signals. I have smoked tail light nand turn signals going in along with the MMS CF headlight inserts. Sorry I'm such a slow mechanic. I should have had this all done a couple months ago.

I will have weight of 2024 evaporative emissions delete very soon. Also a detailed tutorial. ...that's part of the reason wrenching takes me so long, I make illustrated tutorials. I'll have fairings removal and a few other things too.

Won't have Brock's full system installed until late fall. I just need to ride this new baby of mine while the sun shines. I'm enjoying the new Hayabusa. The old Hayabusa needs lots of TLC after four years of gathering dust. The pitiful wrecked Gen1 ZX-14 needs prayers but I'm gathering parts for it.
