When the Kawasaki engineers designed the ZX-14 engine, what life expectancy did they build into it?
I think the term for an engine's life is "engine design life."

Like I mentioned in another post, I have a friend who puts over 100,000 on every big-bore sport bike he gets. He's never had an engine failure on any bike yet and he's owned every brand. I also know of others with higher mileage. Modern water cooled sportbike engines will last longer than most people will own the bike if you maintain them properly Also my friends kawasaki's have seemed to age the best of the bunch overall

Now that's what I like to hear!
My 14 will outlast me for sure.
I'm a fan (pardon the pun) of liquid-cooled bike engines.
