Would you guys mind at least putting the State or country outside US under your avitar. When you guys are talking about roads you ride, it would help knowing what part of the country you are in. I might want to check it out if it isn't more than a day away. Seeing ethin14 being from down under was huge at getting me a hitch for my bike. I would still be waiting on someone to need one in Australia if he hadn't helped me.

Have to add that some dont know that we dont know the short name for your town. Someone puts LA for lower Ala and the rest of us think its LA Cali. If I say Round Rock that cover a lot of different areas but is pretty noticable to most already close by in TX
just cause you think its famous many of us have never heard of your home area

For mountainous areas, you have to stay Northeast Alabama for the most part. I have a friend that lives in Athens, Al. that says his bike only goes North and East when he rides. Tennessee is where I like to ride most.

Yeah Harley...I thought about what I said later on...I posted some pics of my speedo at 190.They were valid and real(I deleted them).However...I think maybe some might have interpreted that as bragging.It wasn't meant that way at all.Just something I had NEVER been able to do my whole life...you know...that kind of speed at my age on two wheels.Fastest I've ever been,except flying.I thought it would be kinda cool to share it with us all...it was over in a heartbeat,and there really wasn't any drama along with it.Steady as a rock and smooth as glass.But yeah,guess it really didn't need any kind of comment from anyone(Truthfully,I was "kinda" pissed inside that no one posted afterwards...but what would they say..."What an azzhole").We all realize (except maybe ME)that that kind of "risk" is VERY serious,and extremely illegal.I would never think of doing it with ANY traffic on the road.And I don't.As far as crashing is concerned...I've never(yet)been afraid my bike was gonna crunch or throw a chain or something.It's an amazing bike that's for sure.I thought maybe going that fast would kinda scare me...but it didn't.It was a thrill...bein able to roll like that with no one around.Just me and my bike haulin azz.I'll most likely quit doing those runs now....but it's difficult to not hit that nice smooth paved stretch,see no cars down at the end,and not go for it,"just one more time"...I think ya probably know how I feel.No one should mistake...our 14's WILL do 200 stock,with the right gearing and circumstances.

I really believe with 18/something gearing,she'll hit 200.But I'll most likely NEVER end up doing it.At 190,she still had steam left...enough I'd say to get er to mid 190(possibly).

I also thought the stock gearing would allow getting to 186 no prob.It didn't.But the lower geared 16/42...THAT gearing actually has a higher top end to it.That was a surprise.So I'll probably stick with the 16/42.Got new ones comin this week.Wohoo....I do love my zx!Don't know exactly HOW she got up that high...but my previous runs were with aftermarket windscreens.This last one was with my lowered seat mod,and stock screen.Motul 10/40 V300 synester oil.Pilot Power 2CT front,Diablo Strada rear(190/50).

No, Blue, once that top end bug has bitten, we will always do it! Maybe not every time we ride, but certainly when the opportunity is there and the mood is right. We obviously only do it on a clear road and when conditions are 100% ok. It is an awesome feeling watching that speedo go off the clock. With my previous double bubble the turbelence was very bad, but with the MRA screen it is ok. I love it!! I must confess and tell you that I have done 300 indicated two up! That was actually a bit silly, but I was racing a Blackbird and thought 'what the hell'. It was a rush for a couple of seconds and then reality set in.Cheers from a COLD SA.

Oh, by the way, I did get another ride. Found a good deal on a Triumph Rocket Tourer. My wife and I can both ride and pull camper.

Update. Crashed Triumph on Sunday. Not sure what happened, but think it highsided. I have shoulder surgery today. Bike held up better than me. Well built machine.

OK its been a week and the pain is lessening. Anyone know how to put the clutch on the right so I can go riding?
