Feel dumb but I can't see a tab or something to push in or? I tried simply pulling. No info in the SM or owners manual. Can't find in a search either.
Any help appreciated.

You mean...those 194's up in the headlamp lens? That plug should turn,(maybe while pushing in slightly)and come straight back out(it's the whole body of the assembly, not just a bulb). The bulb is a small 'blade' type deal...that pulls out of the socket. The wiring?Probably going to the headlamp harness maybe shrinkwrapped in there?

Thanks Grn. I need to remove the upper fairing. Part of doing that is to disconnect the wiring. The SM just says remove running light socket. I can't get it to budge. So I was guessing there's a tab or something that needs to be poked in or ?? The SM says specifically to turn the headlight sockets CCW to remove but no method on the running lights.
I guess I'll go back out and try rotating the whole socket but don't want to force anything plastic. Heck, I pay for the SM and it's useless.

Say the base is flat? Then, that is push/pull style.
If say the base is round? That may be the old twist out, righty tighty or in this case, lefty loosey, she comes out with a spring push in, where that is the pressure of the spring against the two tangs. Push in, turn left, she comes out. Either or, right?

OK, I got it. Pretty stiff removing it so I wasn't sure.
You just turn CCW. Maybe they were stiff from never being touched.
I appreciate you guys helping me out. Trying to get something done on the bike but been feeling like crap lately. I'm getting her done slowly but surely.
Why ain't you guys out riding? Wish I could.

Aw jeez! Grn, just saw your added info about removing the "city" lights in the SM. Don't know how I missed that except I was looking for "running" lights. Only the 4th dumb thing I've done today...but the day is still young! Thanks again!

Pee tend like you're a doctor examining the patient. One is female, the other is male. The flat is her slithe camel toe think. That is where you insert yours. Where ass, you see those round nuts? She gets a hold of those, you're screwed! And that is how you know the difference who's turn it is.

Thanks for the replies.
Rook, thanks for the link. Now I'm struggling with those dang plastic retainer rings for the front fender brake lines. I got one off so far. I see your pics and it's easy to see how they work but I can't seem to make 'em move the way I want. I'll try poking 'em from inside the fender as you show on your tutorial and hope that will do it.
As for my health, I'm getting a lot of rest but have had another set back. About 2 straight weeks of the "runs". The doctor isn't sure what is going on yet but has me on pro-biotics since anti-biotics are causing other problems. I'm also waiting on some test results that I hope will lead to a fast cure. Easy to make fun of this condition but it has me losing weight and strength, not to mention pain and I have almost no energy. At least I'm making some progress on the bike but I've done much less than what I wanted to the last week. I'm pretty bummed over it because I was doing well and on target to go back to work on March 1. Now it looks like I'll be delayed but I hope no more than an extra 2 weeks. Keeping my fingers crossed.
NEVER take good health for granted my friends...it is a gift!

Those are always a beech. --especially the one that holds the line vertacally. Seems to help to squeeze the ring a little bit while pulling so that ring starts to form a slight oval as it would with the beaks askew. All this while pressing that beak half toward the hole inside of the fender. Try a drop of silicone or some oil....or check at bike bandit---those things may be cheap enough that you could just nip it with a wire cutter and replace.

YOu take a long needle nose behind the ring. Squeeze those splits together and pull. Use just enough squeeze and pull at the same time so you do not distort the split bulb looking bulbus

Rook, you're right. Tests just came back Cdiff. Contagious and hard to get rid of.
My wife (who is a nurse) already spoke to my doctor and I'm guessing they'll want me to take another 10 days of anti-biotics. I've been throught this anti-biotic thing before and while they kill bad stuff in your body, they also kill good bacteria and stuff your body needs. So you can get a mix of good and bad results. I don't know what to do but do what the doctor says. I don't feel confident though. I just want to get normal again and go back to work.
Thanks again.

Thanks for the help about those retainer rings.
I got 2 off (with a fight) and broke 1 even though I used the same method on all 3. Easy to see how they work in your hand but with that fat brake line taking up so much space I just struggled with them.
(With the "beaks" pointing at 12:00)I found if I placed my thumb at 6:00 and finger at either 11:00 or 1:00,(either side of the beak)and squeeze, this would seperate the beaks and the ring should pull out. But it appears just when the first beak half should clear, the brake line gets in the way and won't quite clear. I reached that point several times and tried pulling straight out but got nowhere. Poking them with a screwdriver from inside can damage them too. Talk about frustrating.
I looked them up at Bikebandit and they're $5.44 each! Add shipping and breaking 1 cost me almost $13. Sad thing is I don't really know the exact method to get them out in the future, so I learned very little. Without that fat brake line taking up so much space they're easy to remove, such as the one that holds some small wiring under the left mid-fairing.
By the way, I tried playing around with the broken ring and found they're pretty flexible. I could squeeze the ring nearly flat with pliers and there was no sign it would crack. Had I known this earlier I would have used them instead of just my fingers. The extra squeezing power probably would do the trick, then pull straight out. I was too afraid to squeeze them with pliers and break them. Just place the plier/needle nose jaws at the same clock positions I described above. (Which may also be what Hub was saying?)

OK Rook. Good luck with school.
My doctor decided against more anti-biotics. They kill the bad bacteria but also the good bacteria and you can get into this endless cycle. Pro-biotics are working for me and I'm doing much better than the last time I posted. Even finished putting my bike back together. Jeez!, I'm even re-thinking if I want to sell it and get the Ninja 1000.

Glad to hear you are well on the way to a full recovery.
The new Zx-10 is a cool bike but already there are other bikes stepping up to steal the limelight with superior hp and believe it or not---lower weight
The latest is a pretty short lived thing these days. Don't get caught up in the hype. Just buy what you need for your type of riding or stick with what you have if it is fitting the bill. you really can't win going with the latest because you will always pay out the wazoo to have it and you will use it to full potential maybe a cumulative 60 seconds in 3 years of ownership.
