ECU From '07 ZX14-Will it Fit/Work?
02/01/13 12:48 PM

Hello All,

A buddy of mine is parting out an '07 ZX and I am considering purchasing the ECU to have it flashed and keep my stock as a backup. Will there be any problems? Also, what would be a good price to offer?

Sorry if this topic has been hammered to death.

WOW. I'm the wrong person to answer this, but I think you're asking too much. There has to some parameters typical to the 1st generation that a re-flash won't over ride. Just send your ECU to Guhl or if you live close, ride over there, I don't think you will regret it. I will be sending mine. Check ebay, there are a lot of cheap ECU in case you don't want to make your buddy an offer he CAN refuse.

Too many differences between gens 1 and 2 to make what you are proposing feasible.

Traction control functionality to name one.

The firmware COULD be in there already.Who knows?A zx14 2009 with abs?Hmmmmmm. The frame holes are identical for fitment of the abs hardware;)The abs units are for sale...including piping. The calipers are the same mounting spots.Maybe all that earlier ECU needs is an unlock of a program?????The Connie's had ABS for how long now? Those tone wheels....wonder if they fit an earlier model zx14.....ooppps...got off subject here a tad....sorry.

Here's the mix and match for this one.

2006-2007 = 440cc injectors
2008-2009 = 330cc injectors
2010-2011 = ??

2012-2013 = Totally different animal having to do with the auto-idle system. No more needing to set the idle with a cable. So you need that ECU and that throttle body to mix and match these gens.

So yes, swap the matching ECU w/injector between gens. That means you'll run rich if you use an '06 injector with an '08 ECU. No problem with all the sensors. I believe they are preset with the same output numbers. So no worry about changing those.
