I hear ya Grn, lane splitting at 170 mph is not my cup O' tea either. I saw many, many close calls in that video where if a car had even behaved slightly erratic there would have been a smoking BMW shaped hole in the landscape.
He leaves the road a couple times and takes the shoulder at above 130 mph, slightest patch of gravel at that speed and it's adios amigo!
Can you imagine how many Grandmas must have gone into cardiac arrest during that ride?

"He leaves the road a couple times and takes the shoulder at above 130 mph, slightest patch of gravel at that speed and it's adios amigo!"...I can attest to that!Geez....I've been a bonehead several times skimming the shoulder....DUMB DUMB DUMB.At 130...sometimes even faster....no more.....I won't be doing that anymore....I've been so damn lucky up to now...it's not funny.Acting like a child with a new toy.....believe me...I'm not proud of my previous biking habits.Stupid....and for what?...to 'prove to myself' I'm what?...I can 'go faster' than anyone around?Shit.....just lucky I tell ya....I'm certainly not against going fast....no way...but as has been said here....take it to the track..."for my own good'...well...there's no tracks around here...so....guess that means..I HAVE to behave now.I'm intending to as well...this last deal....stupid...and needless.Totally.For some 'macho" thing within?....Nah.....I aint even sure I'm gonna video any rides anymore. If it was a race...maybe...but out riding...legally...nah....
I just enjoy the big Ninja so much....I can't just stop.Best bike I've ever ridden.I can't give that up...yet.

I've got no business riding like I have in the past.Honestly, besides breaking the law big time...I don't have the skills to ride like that in all truth...I thought I did....nope....I don't.Just dumb luck.
You know, and I mean "me' when i say 'you'....you ride....get out there...have some close calls.....and you forget..."HOW did I get in this close call to begin with"...and ya let go.You don't learn...ya just put the experience in the back somewhere...and feel confident.Truth is....one different move....it could be all changed.Like you said Kruz...'what if"....ya go along....no consequences...then,BOOM...shit hits the fan.IDK....these bikes are just so cool to ride...and they perform so damn effortless...ya just kinda forget...know what I mean?

Hell...I never did that!Wheelie in 1st...that's all I could handle.....I'm a lightweight...you guys are just koo-koo.I wouldn't even really call em wheelies....lofting....then back down.Always had fear of going over.Never had the confidence to clutch it,gas it...you know, get the front up and riding on one wheel....Most guys can....not me....

I do that too...but it doesn't seem to come up 'real easily' by itself.Let me clarify....my 07 was like that.My 2012....now that's a tad different!LOL!I've not got the cahones to like.....well..I'll say.....shifting from any other gear up through the gears....it will get light in front...but I've yet to get er to actually wheelie shifting up...and that's shifting in the torque zone.IDK why it won't,but it doesn't.(or didn't).That's some strong powering and shifting...without clutching.I would think it would pop up shifting to the next gear when the RPMs are in the meat of the power torque curve for each gear...but.....it just flies....but no lofting.Teensy frontend wiggle sometimes doing that...when shifting...but no wheelies.I mean...I'm cool with that...but seems kinda odd.I believe it WOULD wheelie on up through the gears if I was manipulating the clutch...but IDK how to do that. You know...shift...pop the clutch after grabbin some throttle.....or pullin the clutch and gassing, then popping....yeah...I'm sure she'd pop right up.

Oh I see what you mean.I'm just talking 1st gear and grabbing alot of throttle.I never had the balls to rev it to 10 grand then bang 2nd.It comes up at 7 and just stays there too much for my liking.I'm more of the pop it up ride a little and let it down. One time it caught me off guard and I hit it in 2nd and it came up,totally off guard.I used to powershift bikes that had less HP like my ZRX and Z1000 to get it up in second. They had about 125HP.

Couple of weeks ago, I was northbound on the interstate and had a bike pass by southbound riding like that. An hour later as I was headed south back into town, I caught up to the bike...against the center wall. The rider was 200 feet away in the northbound lanes...under a yellow tarp.
There's a time and place to ride like that, but in traffic like that ain't it.
And the people here change lanes without warning or logical reason...they would have made it about a mile here before getting wadded up.

At the end they're blowing through stoplights and stop signs. The cop talking to them is way more lenient than any cop I know would be.

Wow! I know these cats. This is my backyard. I didn't think they were dum enough to put it on the web they should of done a better job in the editing department filming all the way back to there neighborhood not smart an plus getting the cops face an cars number is not a good look but at this point who cares they don't care about there own safety they think they'll never get caught.
An this is the kicker two of them are real good riders but are not smartest people in the world and they an go to the track an the kid filming has a track bike to-boot an the other one lost his license speeding got his bike in-pounded spent a week in jail at the begging of this season. There is a group of them who meets up by Bear Mtn. Every Sunday it's a big motorcycle spot where everyone meets before groups go there own ways. But you know what there was a time when I was younger that was me out not riding in-between cars but crazy with no regards for life.
The part that kinda pisses me off is that's the kinda riding that gives us all a bad name! The crazy part about this whole thing is if they go 45 mins north there is no where near the amount of cars on the road where you could get away with riding like that! But at the end of the day who really cares I'm done an over it now.
Oh yah, that BMW has some wheat put in it an it goes as you can see he loves spending all day up top in the 3 digits!!

We all start our riding careers with an empty bag of experience and a full bag of luck, the trick is to fill the bag of experience before you run out of luck.
This is some of the craziest riding I've seen, one small move by a nervous cager and it would have been game over for these boyz. They obviously know how to ride a motorcycle but it's everyone else on the road that is questionable. This kind of riding is not conducive to a long life.
On a side note, could this video be used as evidence that a crime or multiple crimes have been committed? I think it's just a matter of time before the authorities starting going after the people posting these vids.

Crazy but they're good riders. In the street more that in the track it is often who's got the biggest. You could tell them to take it to a track but I bet they would tell you it's not the same buzz. I don't condone it but I understand it. Bottom line somebody who knows somebody who knows that cop is going to tell the cop he's on youtube and since he knows the riders...
Looks like the removed the vid! Too bad I wanted to watch it again! That Beemer is the real deal!

I bet they removed the video because one of the two braindead idiots figured out that it constituted evidence should some real law officer decide to use it.
That's exactly what happened, they posted it orginally on ZX-10R.net and were asked to pull it down. We don't need that kind of negative advertising, crazy sportbikers are giving everyone a bad name already....legislation will soon follow if we're not careful. Look at France, home of the 100 HP limit on sportbikes. Don't think it couldn't happen here with the Obama nanny state trying to protect us against everything. I may retire on the Isle of Man...lol!
Come to think of it, the Isle of Man may be the last place on earth you can be a man!
