Hello from WV !

Well, it's official now!! BMW no longer for sale, it's SOLD !! Black and Green 2014 ORDERED !

Not that the S1000RR was a slouch, but I am sick of screamin engines and want to savor the power of my new beast at civil rpms! I understand that they pull hard right down to 3K or so! That's the meat of where I like to ride and I will enjoy the flexibility of that engine for sure.

I have a question on a rear bag, what works out well and looks nice. I've used Ventura in the past but the brackets and packs are very ugly.

Can't help with the bag question, but CONGRATULATIONS on ordering your new bike!!! I'm on my third ZX and have loved EVERY one of them! You're going to love the turbine smooth engine, fantastic machine!

Congrats on the sale and the new bike. Ida kept both but if you tried the S1000, you know what it's all about. I've never even ridden a smaller sportbike so I am very interested in 600 or a 10r.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm very excited to start this new chapter in my riding. My wife said four wonderful words to me...."I'm happy for you"......which says it all. What a woman!!

Any luggage I buy must be very easy to put on and off because I don't want to invest in that expensive Ventura Rack system again and be stuck with that ugly crap installed when I only tour several times a year.

Lucky man with an understanding wife. My wife doesn't complain because she knows how much I enjoy riding but I also know she doesn't like it a lot, I'm lucky that she does understand.

Thank you about the wife comment. It took many years to get to this place. I have learned over the decades that the better you come to understand what makes your wife tick the more she will accept you for ticking your own way. At least in my case....I can't imagine trying to deal with someone who is only about themselves, that could never work.

But over time she has learned what buttons not to press with me and vice versa. No one in this world likes to be "bugged" or nagged.

Now, how do they get their women to wear masks and capes over in Iran? LOL ?

I'm getting very excited to get my baby home now, she's due to be delivered to my local dealer any day now! They predicted Thursday (tomorrow). My day off is Monday, so I might be doing the paperwork and taking my first break in ride then!!

I had the wonderful opportunity to go and pick my own bike up from the other dealer. It was uncrated but not serviced, so I put it up on my Kendall trailer and hauled it home with the paperwork for my local dealer.

It's mine but I don't own it yet because I got home late on Saturday when the dealer was closed. My appointment is for right now to haul it in and get it done.

I've had all weekend to admire it on my trailer! I will remember this purchase for the rest of my life. One other bike, my Triumph Daytona, I bought brand new and still have it and love it so much.....now this one will be it's stablemate, with even more affection I'm sure.

I am so sick, it's like having a child or something!!!!

What's wrong with me? I don't know....maybe it's just passion taking over?
