Haven't heard anything from Grn14 (Monty) in a very long time. I've heard disturbing rumours that he passed away. Hope that is not the case but I can't think of any other explanation for his absence from the forum.

Anyone know anything?

Yep, only explanation is he's not breathing any longer. Rare for him to at least comment on a few things here.

I believe he's gone too. There's an obituary with his name online. It says July of 2021. The photo is what I thought GRN looked like. I must admit, I don't have much memory of what he looked like, I probably only saw one pic of his face many years ago. The obituary says Iowa. I thought Grn lived in Montana. His phone number area code is indeed Montana. I called him a few months back and got a voicemail. It was a generic recording. GRN had a greeting with his own voice when I used to talk to him on the phone.

It's a bit weird that his voice mail is is still active, when I shut a phone number down, there is an instant out of service message generated.

But I thought last time he disappeared he was in rehab for a couple months or something, maybe my memory is slipping.

Between the issues leading up to rehab and rehab time a guy could be gone for quite a while.

No Kruz, you are correct. I see GRN posted on my crash thread on and after July 26, 2021. The obit I found shows the date of demise to be July 20, 2021. In fact, he posted on the last page of that thread on 04/15/22, almost a year later ....so either Monty was posting from the great beyond or else he was alive long after the obituary I found. He might still be out there...somewhere...

I don't think Monty would mind us discussing his problem with alcohol between us on the forum. His rehab experience was lengthy and extremely unpleasant. It definitely left a mark on him. He wasn't going back to anything like that again. Addiction is a tough thing though.

I'm quite sure I haven't heard from GRN in at least a year. I wasn't around much myself for a couple years so it's hard to say exactly when GRN posted here last.

Good detective work Rook, it sounds like the rumours about his untimely demise are greatly exaggerated, my hope is that he is still out there somewhere but possibly his life circumstances have changed a great deal and motorcycles are no longer a priority. Rook do you know his full name and last known address in Kalispell, Montana as I recall and I'll do an Intellius search on him?

Checked the obituaries, negative, so he's still alive, not sure where he is though.
