It will corner different. There is no way around that, you're changing the suspension's geometry. It won't necessarily handle BAD, but it will affect it.
It's likely you'll never notice, i'm just telling you it will change.
Also, i'd suggest only lowering the front 3/4".. I've heard horror stories of hitting bumps, the front fender has pushed the horn through the radiator before. 3/4" has been the "safe" limit from what i heard.

also now sure how low you are wanting to go, but the kawi dealer should be able to get you a lower profile factory seat. Give them a shout, i think it lowers the rider height by 1/2" or so?

I lowered mine just under an inch in the rear and I think it handles better now. of course I think I am the exception to the policy

mine is just about an inch lowered in the back. and I love the way it handles. its lowered .97 of an inch (fully adjustable links)I bought stiffer springs for the front but have yet to put them in. I plan on lowering the front of the bike too (with blocks) eventually just because. but it is deff not necessary. I will say this though if you lower the back an inch adjust you headlights down. cause lowering the back makes them point higher and pisses off people in the oncoming lane, and getting flashed gets old pretty quick.
