Looking for OEM parts. Bikebandit?
01/01/12 3:00 PM

I already checked out Bikebandit and my parts will cost me about $1,600.00 to replace the upper/mid/lower cowls, "grill", windscreeen, mirror, signal lens assembly and fender.
Are there any other sources for genuine parts other than the dealer? I'm pretty sure BB and the dealer are my only 2 choices but wanted to ask before I order. I'm not concerned with shipping speed as I can't work on the bike for several weeks anyway (doctors orders.) Thanks for any help.

Or Cheap Cycle Parts. Among those three, you should be able to find the best prices on new parts. Check each site for each part before you order. Just because one has the best price on a certain part, doesn't mean they'll have the best price on all of them.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate it.
Most of the prices are fairly close between sellers. Some a little more or less. The mid-fairing was the exception though with prices varying from $396 at Parts Shark, to only $200 at Ron Ayers, to $221 at Bikebandit. Speaking of BB, their prices changed from when I first looked a couple days ago to when I actually ordered yesterday. That same mid-fairing I swear was $479 on Saturday but dropped to $245 on Monday. All the other parts changed too (up and down) but only by small amounts. I was surprised by that. Kinda like Amazon's pricing. I'm glad I waited because not only did that mid-fairing drop drastically but BB has a 4 day 10% off all OEM orders now. Shipping for the upper/mid/lower fairings, mirror, fender, grill and signal assy' was only $9.
So Ron Ayers was cheapest combined by $70 but they wanted $49 MORE to ship so total profit was about $21. Parts Shark was $171 more, mostly because they wanted almost $400 for the that upper fairing. I didn't check what their shipping costs were. Since I've bought from BB in the past I went with them. As Danno said, you can save by buying some parts from one seller and the rest from others. Very good advice he gave. I ended up spending $1,100 total.

I'm also looking for a helmet since mine hit pretty hard. I've bought Shoei's for many years now and my old helmet is now called the RF1100. So far the best price I've found is again at BB at $436 total. Regardless who has the best price I still have to wait until I can leave the house and actually try one on. Arai is a brand name I like but they get even more expensive. Unless the Shoei just doesn't fit me well, I'll probably just stick with Shoei. I still need to check out Chaparral's and Bert's Mega Mall since they often have good prices.
I also have to get a new Jacket 'cuz the paramedics cut off all my clothing. Damn, I really liked my light Kawasaki jacket I had but that's the way it goes.
That just leaves a new Zero gravity screen and Shogun frame/swingarm sliders but the local dealer here has decent prices on those ($80 and $80 for slider kit). BB didn't carry the screen or swingarm sliders.
I appreciate you guys taking the time. Hope my post might help others too.
Rook, I'll check out your PM in a minute.

I have a stock screen I'd be willing to let go of for cheap if you need to save some parts money. I also might have aq blue tinted Puig Double Bubble I might sell depending on how the MRA I have coming works out.

Thanks for the replies.
Danno, I still have the stock clear screen too. I'm putting the bike back to exactly what it was before the accident. Smoked Zero gravity on order. Everyone seemed to like the changes I made to the bike and I was nearly done. I plan to sell the bike once I get it back to the way it was, which was perfect. Thanks anyway.
