Who all in here has had there bike painted and what did it cost? I know this varies considerably but I'm just trying to get a ball park. I freaking love that new GREEN!!! I want to either get my bike painted or buy some new plastic. What do yall think will be cheaper?

Buying fairings will be cheaper. Contact Cory and see if he has a green set with a tank from the bikes he parts out.

I painted mine for about three hundred dollars it depends on what you have access to and how much work you can do yourself.

You def. get what you pay for. My 14 was $1500 for Kawi green, but insides and outsides were painted, zero defects in the paint, zero orange peel, better then factory finish. The color was $600, clear was $400 plus all the other crap and it was done by a friend of mine who paints for a living. My R6 on the other hand was $250-300 for everything with me doing the paint. The finish isn't nearly as good but it got the job done. It realy depends on how good do you want it to look.

I just got a quote from a local guy for $650!!! Thats if I take it apart myself which I don't mind doing. I have a scuffed up right side mid fairing that he'll also fix for the quoted price. Now its time to pick a color!

$650,is that with paint?The green I used on my 14 cost me $800 my cost.That green on the 09's is a tri-coat.

Man I don't know, I don't know anything about paint or painting. I told the guy I wanted the bike painted the OEM color and that I'd find the number for him. Is that 800$ not including labor? Unfortunately down here in South Texas(North Mexico) all of the local businesses like to utilize illegal labor so everything is cheaper. Not really anyway around it down here. I will have to ask if that includes three paint coats tho, I assumed it would I did have the prescence of mind to ask about clear and he said it did.

I work at a bodyshop and that was my cost for PPG's Anti-freeze green.Mine was actually a 4 stage system.Black base,underneath a fine silver underneath 3+ coats green candy underneath 3 coats of clear.With sanding inbetween coats.Took me all day on a Saturday to just paint the body work.We now spray Speis Hecker paint system and we can mix bike colors now!
I figure I had over 20 hours alone in just painting all the parts.And probably around 12-14 hours prepping the body panels.

thats a good question cause all my other bikes are green and my White LE might be green next spring too
