It's good to be back!!!

Took a brief (2 month) hiatus in the cruiser realm (m109r), but man how I have missed a 14. Got a decent deal on an 06 black. Not mint, but made money out of the deal with not many mods needed (not yet at least).

The previous owner claims there is programming that has been done to remove the top speed restriction. I am not sure if that is true, however the bike shows 6th at all times while in gear. That just means he added a TRE correct?

I just got it this morning so I haven't had a chance to unbutton her to see what's going on yet. Owner claimed that he had service done a month ago at a local dealership, do you all believe that is information they would release to me? What re some things you suggest I freshen up besides oil at this point?

Here are some photos (Scratches on lower right fairing are some when I was leaving work today and my coworker backed into me, OUCH!)

It's post like this that make me wonder if I'll have to own a 14 the rest of my (hopefully not shortened) life?

LOL I sure as hell hope so!

Welcome back. How many miles on your new bike? Wonder if the valves were checked/adjusted? I think kawi recommends first valve check at 15,000 miles. I'm not sure about the recommended intervals after that. I think it would be a good idea to verify valves were checked or have it done yourself.

I know from now the 14 will be my primary bike for life. Anything else is just gravy... Lol

As for the valves the person I bought it from said he just had the valves and plugs done at 20k. There are 22k miles on it now. Higher mileage than I normally like but aftwr talking with him again he is willing to go to the shop where he had his work done to pick up the paper work. That will be done ASAP.

I appreciate the feedback/suggestion...

Congrats, I can only imagine how boring a cruiser bike would be after having a ZX-14,
but you guys are way too enamored with with the 14, it's not the only bike in the world.

Good for you. I also recently returned to sportbikes after a 12 yr. hiatus with the last 3 yrs. riding a 1200 Sportster. Completely different animals. Great to be on the 07' 14, but still enjoy the Sportster on occasion. Each are very good at what they do...
