All the usual service stuff is good while it's all open. If it's open anyway, you may as well do the valve shims too, and sync the throttle bodies. Saves you doing later anyway.

Put washers under the Valve cover bolts to stop the leak. Definitely remove the flies if they are still in!!
.Since you are a big guy the suspension will need proper springs. See Race Techs website and use their spring rate calculator to figure what you will need. I destroyed the stock junk within 5000 miles and 2 or 3 track days. I am only 175 lb. The 06 was sprung for a 150 lb rider.....,I put on a Penske shock and had the local race suspension guru do a fork revalve.
But many 14 owners never notice as they never push these bikes, posers. I thrashed mine hard over 35,000 miles. 5000 miles on the track,30,000 more miles of mountain living and 2 up touring, lots of hard charging in every corner...,I am such a adrenaline junky!
I also found that if you drill a couple more holes in the thermostat the bike runs much cooler if yours is one that runs hot....,
Now you can run a Cox racing radiator screen. Cheap insurance for a very expensive radiator!!
If you do a lot of touring and two riding get a C14 (Concours) seat. My Lady thought it was the best thing ever!! I liked it too.
In my experience if you dont drag ,do track days or land speed stuff just get a quality slip on. Save yourself some dough and still get the better sound and weight loss. The stock cans are heavy and get dangerously hot.
Custom cut stomp pads for the tank help braking and cornering so much. Look sexy too. See my avatar.
But again if you dont push the bike you wont need it. Buy chrome instead lol.
