Anyone know a decent OEM fairing dealer?
11/14/11 11:07 AM

I live in Norway.

Here, the bikes are hygely expensive (I had to pay US$27 000 for a 2007 ZX14... and that is below market value).

I have been an idiot, and dropped the bike outside my garage. Cracked the nose cowl, and scratched the Left hand side fairing badly.

Those two needs to be replaced. These parts are very expensive in Norway.

Do any of you know a decent dealer in UK or the US, who you think will be willing to ship the parts to me?

I have trouble finding the parts for my 2007, in the right color (the black of the 07 is appearantly not the same as 08 or 09, etc).

Thaaaanx,

Oh, and if I do have to buy the parts in Norway, I'll tell you at what price (it will be better than any horror movie you have ever seen :-) )

I have a brand new, still in the box, 2006 Upper Fairing but it's in Passion Red not Black. The insurance company paid for a new one but the scratch in the original was so tiny I never bothered to install this new one.

I paid just under $300 USD from CycleParts Nation, what kind of quotes are you getting in Norway on a new upper?

There are plenty of online Kawasaki dealers here in the U.S. who do international shipping, CycleParts Nation is one of them but the shipping costs may wipe out any savings advantage.

Hi,

I used your tips (thank ya all), to find the correct parts number. Order is placed at Wemoto. UK£488, for uopper and middle left hand cowling. Including shipping.

Price in Norway is around uk£1000.....

So, just to wait and then mount (hope it is not too difficult :-) ).

Byyyyy!

The left side is a snap while the upper is going to take more time because of all the goodies, windscreen, mirrors, headlights etc. mounted too it. One suggestion though, order a set of the 5mm well nuts for your replacement fairings, replace all of them. You'll thank me later cause getting those things out of the old fairings and into the new ones is a royal PITA. The old wellnuts will be mushroomed and hard as nails, they almost won't go back into the new fairing without tearing. If you do decide to reuse the old wellnuts, lube them up with some soapy water before trying to insert them.
