Guy's I just put a new DID X Ring chain on last winter and put on 8500 miles. I was just cleaning it yesterday and noticed a few of the o rings were broke... is this normal? Do you think I need a new one?

How did you clean the chain? Did you use a solvent? Did you change sprockets with the new chain? If my math formula was correct, did you lube the chain at least 28 times during the 8500 miles on that chain? According to how you lube/clean the chain, that means, something occurred to cause a few rings to go.
I'd be curious to see if I lost any rings so far. I just pack more grease on and call that purge or squeeze the grit out; killing two birds.

I lube my rim... Oh, you meant the chain? Yeah, I put a little on there too. Mine is getting there with 24k and counting. However, I haven't touched that adjust since I bought the bike. It is still at the 2.5 mark. What is wrong with this picture?

Your axle is backwards.

forget the axle, why is Hub's bike dirty? I've never seen it anything but spotless.

I'd say that is very normal if you clean with WD-40. I don't do it anymore.
I noticed my OEM chain had o-rings that were fraying and it really flared up after a wash with WD.
Are these "broken o-rings" like little black wiskers sticking out between the side plates of the chain? If so that is just the squashed edges of the or-ing stripping away. The o-ring is still intact. If you see pieces that are ~1/32" in diameter, that would be the whole o-ring gone. Not normal. I would suspect you are overtightenning the chain or more likely, there is some kind of chemical that is eating your o-rings.
They sell non-o-ring chains. They have a tiny bit less drag than o-ring chains. Far as I can tell, most racers don't use non-o-ring chains. An o-ring chain should articulate just as well after it wears in. Well anyway, If you are going to keep using that chain and the o-rings are truly gone, better lube the heck out of it on a regular basis. Personally I would change it if it is o-rings busted and not just fraying.

Got 32k on my original chain think its still good. Starting to need more adjustments so probably near time. No visible o ring damage. I use gear oil my latest method is to put some extra on it and use a rag and compressed air med pessure and blow excess off to clean it and lube at same time. Chemicals probably ruin o rings costing you money and not really extending chain life as the intended purpose. I believe running the chain at 1.5 in slack and well lubed is good for cbain life and performance.

I don't wash my bikes. I wipe them down with WD-40 on the metal and some sort of hand pump spray wax on the plastic. Paper towels and nothing else cleans the grease off the rim. I know 90w is the same way. That 90w was the only thing I used up until trying the grease. Same results seems? I match, kawnow.

+1 I have been using plain old greezzzzzzze for a year. Flings off easy in the hot but I believe it is a better lube for cold weather. Wax prolly doesn't get very liquid in the cold.
