Seat shipping
03/29/10 6:19 AM

Good Morning All,

I recently received a pm asking if I would be willing to sell one of my seats.

Quick question for those who have shipped seats:

What was the cost, and who did you use, to ship a seat in the US?

Thanks!
:)

P.S. How do you reply back to a pm?

Pack the seat in a box that is well packed, place in the middle, surrounded by paper and maybe use a double walled box so any puncture is far from the seat.

Now you go to either Fed-ex or Brown's website. Punch in the length-width-height-weight-zip codes, then click the shipping price. Once you see the price, you walk into a depot to ship and the price changes some. So, you need to pad the initial shipping price or eat about 3 or 5 bucks difference between the net and finally shipping the box to said destination.

I find Fed might ship cheaper than Brown. So, once you know your size, zip, weight, you can try the other to see who ships in the cheaper seats? First $99 is free insurance with one of companies. So, add insurance to the part or whatever price is paid for the seat in said condition above the first $99.

A PM should be a regular email that looks like it was sent from another member. Can you click reply and have that member's email address show up in the "To" field? -bg
