Ethanol free gas. Who runs it?
08/08/11 8:34 PM

Im about to start running this in my bike as much as a i can. I know the ethanol in boat motors reeks havoc on the FI or carbs. Does anyone run Ethanol free in their bike?

In the part of the country I live in, we don't have a choice. It all has 10% ethanol. So I use a lot of StarTron.

Same deal here. I did, however, run a couple tanks of 91 octane ethanol free while touring Oregon... Honestly, made very little (if any) difference in the bike's performance... 10% ethanol fuel, on the other hand, is terrible in my 1987 marine 454... Had the carb apart 6 times last year. Burned me out and don't even want to deal with it this year... my boat is still winterized.

same here. All I have run for 29K and FI performance is great as always. No engine trouble. Have never had any problem burning 10% ethanol in any car i have owned.

I run alky free 94 in the dirt bike. But since the old Busa runs quite happily on 87 octane, I always have to use E10. Almost 20,000 miles and no problems.

'07 Hayabusa presently.. mostly stock, few comfort mods.. fixed. As Willie says, "On The Road Again"..
'04 KDX 200 dirt bike, that I manage to hurt myself with on a regular basis
