Those with the 2008 ZX14 was fly removal worth it or make that much difference?
Thanks -- Bobby

In terms of power? I'd say, NO, not at that time. I was never 100% WOT in first gear anyway. I Still never go WOT in first gear unless I actually want to do a wheelie and with my gearing dropped, I pretty much don't try that anymore (at least for now). I might get a little lift off by accident, even.
Far as I know, there isn't anything practical that will give you a huge increase in power idle - 3K rpm and that is exactly the range that an 08 flyecyomy will enhance. It is an enhancement, but the if it adds 20% more power, that still is not much considering the bike doesn't make any power that low anyway. You want power that low of speed, you need to be on the clutch. The flies won't make nearly as much of an improvement as that.
Now, if the bike is a few years old, warranty is about gone, go ahead and pull the flies. It's been a while but seems to me the little extra power way down low might amount to a bit better power above 3K rpm. Maybe the motor spinning up better down low helps higher in the revs where the power really gets made. The difference is not dramatic. To be honest, if you didn't know it was done, you might not even notice. That is how subtle it is on the 08-11.
Pulling the flies and mapping for that did really smooth out the throttle response at 3.5 K.

My 14 if I do a 1st gear roll on slowly starts coming up but never wants to stop. If I am on the clutch doing a hole shot it also has a mind of its own and is above 3500 in no time.
Guess I will leave it alone and just put some more gas in it.
I really would like a reflast to get rid of the TRE and maybe a couple other things that are added on.
