Is it in the grip or my gloves ?
02/26/12 4:58 PM

Have had the new bike out twice now at 45 minutes a pop . Both times I have to stop and take my glove off the throttle hand. I get such a huge cramp in between my thumb and fore finger in my palm . Forget about having fingers on the brake. I think the gloves are a good fit . Do I need to go with different grips ( larger ) ? I do have small hands. Just wondering if anyone has experienced this

prob just need a lil more seat time lol let your hand get used to it b4 you start changing up things, with me after a 100 miles or so my right hand like falls asleep but its prob caused by the roaring toys grips ( 0 cushion) but after not riding for a few months my legs will cramp for the first few rides, but it subsides lol

It will go away the more you ride but you can get some grip puppies that should make a huge difference in comfort I was going to get them until the cramping just went away I think it was because your holding on for dear life but the grip puppies are cheap and slip over your existing grip it’s like memory foam for your grips!

"your holding on for dear life"...Yeah...lighten up dude .Chill.Relax.No death grips around here.REST your hands on the bars...stop grabbing.Use yer knees to keep ya stable on yer rocketship.THINK....'use my knees, use my knees".Let yer arms stay loose and keep the blood flowing. You can always get a Throttlemiester...they work fantastico at letting you remove your right hand and get some movement into it.Keep ridin...it'll get better.

Okay...one more deal here...you said you had to remove your glove.OKAY....don't use a glove for a couple of rides...at least for the bit where it begins to cramp.See if it stops cramping without that glove. If so...there's yer problemo...different gloves Cramps are generally from tense muscles cutting off the bloodflow.Stay relaxed...even in your hands.

Grn is correct.

Relax your hands and arms except under heavy acceleration or heavy braking. Hold your upper body in position with your "core". -bg

You have to relax your hands. While riding in "NO" traffic open your hand and rest your fingers on the levers for a few seconds. I works for me. Switch hands, shake your hands one at a time.

Go over to Iron Pony and pick up a set of the foam grip covers they will help damper the vibration and add some cushion for you.
