Ok, right now im running the Angel St, I have used them and loved them for a long time. Now they have the Angel GT out, which is stickier, but also a dual compound, and im not sure if stickier is just sides, or also the center, or is the center now harder than the St?
Right now, if the tire is cold, I have traction problems in 2nd, if warm I can hook pretty good in 2nd. Right now im about 8-8.5inch longer than stock. When I buy a new arm soon, it will max out at 8, so ill only be around 7 at the most. So that should help traction as well. Not sure how much though.
I like the Angel St because of how many miles I get out of them, but id rather have a little more traction in 1st and 2nd gear. Mainly 2nd, I dont expect 1st to ever be highly usable unless I run a slick, and thats not happening.
So just wanting a hair more traction than I have now, should I go GT? I cant find this info anywhere. Also, knowing that ill be about 1inch or so shorter, should help as well. Ive never played with different lengths to know how drastic the difference is, but I know its a balancing act between you either have more traction and wheelie, or longer so you dont wheelie but have less traction. Not sure how much 1 inch or so, will move me towards more traction.
On a side note, at the same time, how much would a 50 help over a 55 as far as straight line traction?
I spend a TON of time just cruising on the highway, I dont race from a dig, which is why the Angel works great for me, but due to my amount of power, Id like to get a little stickier.
So in a nut shell, what other tire gets a ton of miles like the Angel or close, but a hair stickier in a straight line?
Even getting the same tire again, will 1inch shorter, and a 50 instead of 55 be a noticeable increase in straight line traction?
