Why we ride!
12/30/13 6:27 PM

Hey guys,

Have you seen this trailer from a recently released new mc movie? The movie is designed to be an instrument for dealers and industry distributors, etc to rent and show in a movie theatre house as a promotion. Movie houses can show it on their own if they wish.

Below the trailer on the site is the info necessary to rent and show the film; you can ignore that.

I gotta find a scheduled show site near me though cause the trailer really makes me want to see it or even own the dvd maybe.

The downside? Here in the single digit temperatures of Chicago and awaiting a major accumulation of snow for the New Year the incentive to ride brought on by this trailer is a bittersweet two edged sword.

Enjoy: Let the good times...

pb

Oh hell yeah! Looks like a sweet vid! I don't care what kind of motorcycle it is! As long as it has two wheels and an engine I'll ride the damn thing all day!!!

On the bike... I AM NOT
A father of two
Racing to meet a deadline
Paying Bills
Doing chores I disdain
Managing people and projects
Cutting the grass
Painting
Moving furniture
Fixing the fridge
Putting out fires
Remembering my faults
Hiding my true feelings
Participating in the rat race
Following politics
Working out
Raising money
Volunteering at a correctional facility
Answering for others
Taking responsibility for the organization
Drafting plans for the future
Waiting impatiently
Navel gazing the meaning of life
Disturbing a wasps nest
Emotionally feeling the passing of those close
Carrying my disable mother up the stairs
Defending the vulnerable
Forsaking evil and vile
Politicking
Deliberating on whom or what is important
Befalling consequence
Defending a wrongful accusation or mind stance
Fighting for equity and understanding
Holding my tongue
Lashing out at all the wrongs in this world
Measuring others and the human condition
Cleaning the toilet
Doing the laundry
Measuring my weight
Flashing thoughts of hate

On the bike
I AM
Happy

Can I second Cornelius's "Oh hell yeah!"
It reminds me how special this sport/hobby/lifestyle is. AND, how some don't "get it".
A friend, (who never "got it" AND no longer rides), used to give me grief for waving to Harleys. As if there was an "us" vs "them". I always wave, if you don't wave back, it's on you (no matter what you ride). We're ALL on two wheels, we're all linked, we're all there by choice.
Really cool video/trailer, THANKS for sharing!

All those things Wolfman listed just scratch the surface. But he's spot on.
My 14 makes me feel good. My best riding buddy just "hung up his boots" so to speak. Riding is just too worrisome for him anymore. So many cars and so many of them driven by idiots anymore.
I'm not ready to quit yet.

KAK everyone around me is advising me to hang it up, and hold on tight to the family (self preservation).
Wreckless Wild Abandon, I say is one horrific thing, self destruction of self identity is tragic!
To hang it up would mean I'd lose who I am, and I have a difficult time recognizing that person daily WITH the bike!

There's an old boys bike club downunder called " the Ulysses Club ", 30,000+ members ! Their motto is " Grow Old Disgracefully " ! Another of their motto's is " Adventure before Dementia " !
I'm 55, have been riding bikes for 40yrs, I have 7 x bikes ( 3 x running ! ), I will be riding 5,000k's down to Phillip Island for the world superbikes in February and have bought a bike in England which I will ride to the Isle of Man TT in May, tour around Europe for 3 x months then go to the Manx TT before returning to OZ.
I do have lots of aches and pains from years of riding and prangs, just take pain killers when necessary !
If I do have a fall, too bad ! What's another broken bone ! And if I meet my maker, so be it !
I will ride while ever I still have green blood in my veins !
............. rant over ! .............. Carry on ............

I can really relate to the comment at 1:45. The guy says:

"Motorcycles have put me in touch with wonderful people and as a result of that, I have an elevated idea of how good everybody in the world is."

I have found this to be so true!

JWH it's true and a great quote. We stick together and help each other. It's nice feeling the support and brotherhood of folks on two wheels!

I think Honda used, "you meet the nicest people on a Honda Cub" as a slogan! It's true u do!

Sounds like a group meet/movie premiere thing, would be awesome with a bunch of 14's parked out front.

The pic of the four riders reminds me of Utah. I hope my plans to retire and move there this year come true.
I'll be on roads like that as much as I want.
