Fix for the gearing change STUTTER!!!
04/21/13 6:59 AM

I like alot of people had the low down stutter when going to a 16 tooth sprocket. So just yesterday i went from stock gearing to a -1 +1 set up and its perfect. Now i figured this out last year, but i never posted it on this forum. But anyway last year i went down -1 and had that awful bucking,so i went back to stock on the front and went up in the rear,NOPE now the stumble was in the 4000-5000 range,so when i put them both on WHAM gone!!!! But i still went back to stock after a couple of months because of swb[to many wheelies in 1st and 2nd] when giving it any kind of throttle. So now that i'm streched 6in i tried just the 16 tooth up front, but there was that horrible stutter,so i put on a 43 in the rear[+1] and its smooth as stock. Went out for a 2 1/2 hour ride yesterday and NOTHING as smooth as stock. This is why people like lee who drag race and try to dup. the problem cant because this is his gearing he uses. Any way try it out if your used to the power of the 14r by now,it gives it a great midrange almost like you had your heads cleaned up and gained 15 horses!!!! And if your worried about losing some topend, just get the ecu flash and you get alot of it back if not more. Good luck and your welcome!!!!!!

By the way im not the one that felt the stutter, the bike shop that changed the gearing first felt the stutter come back with the 16 sprocket, then they put on the 43 rear, and they could not find any problems at all either after a ten or so mile ride on it.And after my long ride yesterday its PERFECT. I posted this for hagrid by the way,i saw him on another site asking for a fix.

Last summer you said you found something wrong with the 16-43 gearing, now you claim to found the fix for the stutter if people use 16-43 gearing? lol

Kofla whats your problem man??? Let it go and stop tring to ruin threads. The only thing wrong with last year was i was to light and at stock wheelbase it was to much for me. Now at an extended wheelbase, its fine for me.When hagrid tries it and reports back its perfect,we will see what you have to say then.OK.I'm just trying to help out some people with their bikes thats all. Like i said hagrid will tell you when he has done it i'm sure.

Since you live in philly and i live in south jersey we are like 25 min. away from each other. We should meet up someday and ride so you can see i'm not really an asshole at all.In the past i let people get to me and i was WRONG period. Thats why i stopped talkin on here. Now that i saw someone who needed some info that i could help with i did.Plain and simple,i'm done being an asshole, just going to be myself.Sorry for the past, but if you can't get past it or my explanation then i'm sorry, but please let it go.OK.

Hey kofla i just noticed when you click on found something wrong it brought me to my thread. So thats what your going after me about????? Yes the smoothness was fixed but of course your going to top out earlier, being shorter gearing and going thru the gears MUCH quicker. And thats what you are going after me about???? And i'm the trouble maker. You are the good helpful guy on here usally, and this is what you start to go after me about?? Again the stutter is GONE COMPLETY,but yes you will top out sooner. Lets go riding just me and you and i will switch bikes with you for as long as you want, you are a guy here everyone trusts, after you ride my bike for as long as you like you be the judge and back my claim. I can ride pretty much any saturday you like. It would be fun to switch and ride the older 14 again to see the diffrence. Let me know i'm always down to just cruise around. This way you can try out the new 14r to see if you like it!!!

Racer: With your short gearing what Traction Mode do you use? How do you keep the rear wheel from spinning? Do rear tires last as long? Just curious here.

I always have it in TC 1. But to be honest i dont fully pin the gas that much. I really dont have the room to open her up that much around my area. But when i do it is a handful, and like anything you have to control it with the throttle thats all. Shinko 003 stealths are great for the street if your more worried about losing traction and not much about TIGHT corners. If i'm racing anyone with a serious bike in the past i went to TC off and just controlled it with my right hand!! My stock tires are still good to be honest and i have 4600 on them. That how much i really race around anymore.
