LSL bar conversion kit
02/06/21 4:58 PM

I have been giving thought to a newer 14 but do not know what I can pull off my 2008 to go onto a 2012 and up. My main concern are the wheels as mine are chrome and my LSL conversion bar kit. I have been looking online but have not found much on a bar kit as in they do not exist or at least I can find nothing.

Thanks -- Bobby

https://spieglerusa.com/catalog/product/view/id/17141/s/handlebar-conversion-kit-4316/category/60/

I have similar kit on my 2013. I friend has this kit on his 2018 abs. He modified the kit somewhat as we made our own top triple plate to go over the OEM plate, instead of replacing it with the one in kit. His bike is ABS and mine isnt so there is differences in the hoses and reservoir mounting between us. I think the bars are the X1 bars - X bar superbike low? You have to use those bars. I can check on that if you need that. I think the Gen1 kit used different bars. I don't think it will work with the bars from the Gen1 kit. Also those bars may be 7/8" bars and the bend is different from the X bar. So you cant just change the bars as the bar clamp needs changing too.

Why the Gen2 kit uses different bars I think is because faring is different and It barely fits from hitting at full lock to lock. The bars need to be positioned just perfect. But it does fit.

I made my kit based on my friends kit. I did look into getting the 1 1/8 bar offset clamps. They do sell those separate so you may need to change to those bar clamps so you can mount the X bar.

I know my exhaust will transfer over but not sure of my other parts. My 2008 is non-abs so I do not know if they will work on a 14R or if I need to look for one without abs. Same with the LSL bar kit which is if the top plate will fit the 14R I can probably make everything else fit.
I am kinda of a loner so I ride alone and have never tried to see what other 14 riders we have in St Louis for me to look at their bikes to see if I can make the changes. I wonder what the dealer would say if I go in with a set of gauges to measure forks which has me laffing now. I also need to see what years the 14R came out without abs which may be better for me on a wheel swap.
Next is trying to find a color scheme that I like and green is not one of them which is why I never updated from my 2008. Mine is the blue that is so dark it almost looks black and I do not see any other like it around the homeland. I am kinda on the fence on whether to look for a 14R or maybe buy a 14R engine and put it in my 14. It is also winter so I got time to figure it out.

I could buy a new busa ...............

Almost fergetted to say that is 1 nice looking bike sir !!!

Txs .

Get a14R if you can find a colour you like. It is easier than swapping a motor and all that work.

I like ABS and option of TC when needed as well.

Gday all, I’m in Oz & have just ordered an ABM kit from Germany where there made, thru a uk seller, for my 2019 bike.
They list 2 versions 06 to 11
& 12 to 15 & on it seems
Unsure of differences ?
But there must be some.
See photos.

Just put the LSL kit on my 2021, love it. Only minor issue if the bracket that holds the front brake fluid reservoir. It required slight bending to get it aligned correctly.
