PCIII location
10/18/10 7:20 PM

I've been having problems with a surge at 3500 to4000 rpm .Yesterday it occured on a cold start at idle.Got home took off the body work.Started checking all connections.Started the bike and what do I see,my pc's first light is flickering next light is solid.Only one light is supposed to be on at idle.WTF moved the PC a 1/2 inch lights back to normal. I believe stress on the harness caused the bad display.PC has been in that location(inside left intake for two years now)I'm not saying my problems cured ,wont know till the weeekend, but be careful on your install location.I'm going to move mine under the seat where it cant move and stress the wireing. Will post and advise if surge is cured. If not my next step is to take the PC out of the loop

Was the bike warm when you saw this.

cold start at idle
Was the bike still on fast idle ? When was the last time you set the Throttle Points ?
I believe stress on the harness caused the bad display.
When you shake the unit does it still flicker?

If you want to play I would be happy to take a shot at that one. Come over soon it's getting cold Lol

The ground is perfect,Roman this problem is so erractic it really has me pissed(Canadian term for too much to drink American term for angry)I even put the flys back in because a surge with no flys can really make one regular especially when railing

The surge at idle is gone, but the 3500 to 4000 grand surging is still there,I unplugged the pcIII,problem did not go away.Stick coils perfect,1.4 ohm and 9.85 kilo-ohm.The bike runs strong, pulls great but will sometimes surge between 3500 and 4000.Its got to be something simple or I'd get a code.

I have G2 and always felt a surge at 3500. Everything stock, flies in, I felt the surge. Stock bike, flies out and stock mapping, Stock bike flies out with PCV mapped for stock, then flies out, piped and mapped for the pipe. There was always some sort of surge right around 3500 rpm. The thing that smoothed the surge was one adjustment to the map done by Autotune.

Rook when the bike was brand new(07)it was always a bit rough in that area,a pc III cured the problem. The only changes to her are Brock street meg, clean air removed with a hose tying the spigots together.I'ved had the flys out with proper map installed.I've had the flys in with proper map installed,I also have a custom map for flys in .I've had this bike apart, throttle bodies removed, did my shim adjustment, reassembled synced my throttle bodies. The problem only occurs when I'm at minimal throttle opening. It seems to get worse as she gets hot (4 bars)
