A riding bud who runs an 06 honda 1000RR, says his owners manual states not to run synthetic oil in the bike....due to possible clutch probs. The Kruzmiester could prolly verify this. I know my kawi and suzuki owners manuals don't say anything about avoiding syn oils. Maybe they meant avoid car syns? Or maybe all syns? Just thought that was kind of interesting.....

You can use both type of oils in the 1000RR

Bad in Black, my '07 CBR 1000RR owners manual does not mention anything about synthetics. The manual is for model years '06/'07 as they are unchanged. Can you post a copy of the page from his manual where he is getting this information?

Maybe he means synthetic oils with friction modifiers not synthetics oils in general

Didn't they rework the 07 slightly? If I remember correct the 06 1000RR was even
softer and got almost as bad reviews as the 06 zx10.
Honda didn't make any cosmetic changes but revamped engine and such a bit for 07,
shed a few lbs...
I don't follow anything Honda much but there was something going on.

Only difference between the two years is in the paint schemes and black swingarm on the '07, natural aluminum finish on the '06.
