If you want to stay with halogen, I recommend these:

Absolutely, even though I have HID low beams, the high beams are PIAA H9 Xtreme White

I am running the same set up on mine. The HID's are just what this bike needed. I also changed out the marker bulbs to 1 watt led's from this place: http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/commerce.cgi?product=CAR

It is part number WLED-NWLX and the cost is 9.95 each. I got them in natural white which has a 6000k color temp that matches my HID's. These things are way bright!

I thought Natural white is 5000k ? I also changed all bulbs to HID 6000K Diamond white. LED lights are a match and they are are awesome. I don't use the high beams very often, but they are a great night time horn.

I don't use my high beams much either. Not much need with the HID lows. Since I have a halogen bulb for the high beam, when I do put them on, you can still clearly see the low beam pattern in the high beam spread.

I use them mainly for when I get flashed by oncoming cars that think my lows are too bright.

I flash my high beam approaching country lanes when a family is sitting in the old Plymouth at the entrance to the road, as a horn / attention-getter. Anything to keep them from pulling out in front of me "because we didn't see him".

Hey guys am interested in the Piaa bulbs can you put 4 of them in as low beam and high beam and do they draw more power from the bikes electrics and those leds where did u put them redrace or are the H9s just a high beam bulb only.

The H11 55W Low & H9 65W High PIAA would draw exactly the same power as the OEM Philips bulbs. Most HID draw 35 W Each, which is less than halogen bulbs. The LED's shown by Redtrace are 1W Each, compare to 5W incandescent bulbs.

Yes, the LED's are natural white according to the web site. They are white in the 6000k color range.

The PIAA bulbs are a direct replacement.

red, is the WLED-NWLX led a direct replacement, or do you have to make/buy anything else to use them ?

privateer...Yes, the LED has the same base as the original bulb. It is a bit longer, but it still fits with plenty of room.

Stimo...Yes, those are the correct choices. Although, I would really consider changing your low beam to an HID set up. Once you've seen how well they work, you'll never want to go back. Here is a link to where I got mine. They have the slim digital ballast that is much more reliable than the older, bulky ones. www.xeonbargins.com

The kit is 129.95 and that is for 2 bulbs and ballasts.

I just put my HID low beam's in and neither of them will work. The chances of both balasts and bulbs are slim, so I am thinking I have something hooked up wrong. I have checked over the wiring and hook up and everything looks correct. Any suggestions?

jrp My first "test" of my HIDs didn't work either.

In my case the problem was that one of the connectors wasn't making solid contact.

Also check the fuse - its in the under seat fuse block.
Also I've heard the lights are +/- sensitive so maybe you have the wires crossed - simple to change and retest.

Can't think of anything else that could go wrong here... Never seen the bulbs blown so I don't know what to look for there.

jrp, as dennis said, check the fuse. I seem to remember mine popping the fuse on the first light attempt. If you read the specs on the ballast, it will tell you the max current draw. The replacement fuse has to be at least this amperage.

5000k,6000k & 8000k are the most popular. The higher the # the more colour you have(less bright). Also the lower than 4300k starts in the yellow range(yuk)IMO. And the four sets I have seen are + - specific.

Anything between 4300K and 6000K is OK. Apparently 4300K have the highest candlepower rating. Take pick

Stimo, you want kit #3 from that site. You just have to choose your bulb type and color temp.
