There was a small discussion in "2011 Riding Season" thread about polling the interest in creating an annual ride for us ZX-14 forum members. We all ride our bikes for different reasons whether its for the canyon/mountains runs, tracks & drag strips, high speed blasts or posing at the bike nights aka "the posers" but for whatever your reasons it would be real cool to put together an annual ZX-14 ride/rally maybe starting in 2011; one for the east coast members, midwest members and one for west coast members here in the States. Obviously, our global brotheren must not be forgotten so whatever they want to plan so be it. I hear about other bike forums doing this type of event but nothing for the mighty ZX-14.

So I will post a poll to hear back from members..............

sounds like a good idea. I would be down for the east coast (VA).

How about central location??

March/April bike week in daytona. that would be something.

Daytona is cool but I think creating something onto ourselves is better. Daytona may also not be cost effective for members to get there plus you don't do much riding due to traffic and the party hangovers. Obviously, the ride to the rally point is part of the fun, but incorporating rides/runs with all of us together is the main idea. For example, east coast members could make the "Tail of the Dragon" Deals Gap, TN the first event. Central location, cheap lodging, great mountain roads outside of the "tail" would make this ideal.

This would hold true for organizing in the other zones......

Sounds Good , Except for Daytona Beach. Deals Gap , Blue ridge parkway. No bike weeks bought my 14 to ride not to sit in traffic for hours. Lake George in New york plenty of awesome places to ride.

Hayabusa Owners Group and the ZRXOA (ZRX1200) folks have large get togethers in Eureka Springs Arkansas. Beautiful scenery, fabulous roads, cheap(er) lodging.
And it's just a few miles from my house.
The Golden Gate of the Ozarks, just outside of Eureka Springs..

Deals Gap is usually the preferred place though.

Don't know how to post a poll to the top of general for the voting like where the tire poll is. I do not know if this is something bgordon has do as the administrator aka "the Don". Everyones ideas are welcome, the more the better. I agree with you Silver14 that us getting together is to ride a great ride, so even a place like "Tail of the Dragon" might not be great for a large group. I just used it as more of example of a central location to meetup. What's great about planning something like this is that everyone knows great rides & locations to keep an annual rally exciting for years to come....Need to hear from the site veterans on this.

I think SILVER14 Hit it right on the head an said it best so far but as much as I like the Lake George area an the up state New york roads I don't think it is a central location for everybody to make. Plus it's only 2 half hours away from me and I would like meet up with some and ride to a place easier for all to get too an run down some new roads with some new friends.

I don't have any place in mind but I will think about it and get back to you..

That would be fun. All the loud pipe bikes could do their warm up and throttle response tests/competition in front of the house at 8:00 to 9:00AM every morning. Would wake up the low life, non working, welfare sucking, tweaker trash, that lives next door to me. They will have been up until 4:00AM or so, fighting and yelling, banging and slaming doors, roaring cars in and out, and should be passed out and/or well asleep by then.
I love mowing the grass at 8:00AM on Saturday morning, I make 2 or 3 complete coverage passes on the side next to their place.
Sounds like a good time, I'll keep it in mind.
