Mystery Washers
08/31/14 4:09 PM

OK when i disassembled my bike i marked everything that came off my bike and even took pictures every step of the way. HOWEVER 2 washers snuck by the camera and placed themselves on my table. This is a long shot but does anyone have an idea where they came from????? You get a prize if someone figures it out!

Ill probably figure it out when i am putting the bike back together but i am waiting on parts for the next 2 weeks so i am bored as hell.

HINT: Looks like stator cover, coils and generator rotor we are looking at.

never had mine off. The 08 SM mentions a washer that goes under the bolt that holds the rotor. No mention of two washers.

I do believe Hub is KEEERECT;)UNLESS...that larger washer has spline grooves in it...kinda looks like it might. There is a washer that fits over the throwout spacer...I think.

Ya rook i thought it was a washer from the flywheel but the diameter of the hole was too large. I was scratching my head and i had just reached bone when....

I found it!

Washers for the shift rod 92200 & 92020

Lil bastards must have fallen out when i pulled out the rod. Then i found them afterwards and didnt know where they came from.

Damn.... Bored again... My parts here yet?

Ok here is round #2!

Found this little bolt in a mix of parts... Clutch, stator, oil pan, starter, shift shaft...

10mm bolt (yes i know there are a few on the bike) but it has a dab of blue paint on the bolt head... Ideas??

Pictures...

We want to see if that bolt has been in the weather or has oil on the threads. The tape says it looks dry, but say the paint says I have to be QC'd and written off on the sheet. I'm stumped on the bolts. So are we wet threads or sitting outside with some patina to it?

Next is to hold the bolt in hand and begin to circle the half case and look for a thread diameter that takes that bolt. If looks weathered, it's not an internal engine bolt, right? But, no blue paint on external hardware, right? So do we think internally placed with paint being the write off?

Yeah but the number 7 on top says its not a load bearing bolt, its kinda soft, maybe a case or and engine cover bolt, shifter maybe, my 2 cents
