Woolich Racing AutoTune Review
07/09/26 11:33 AM

Using the Woolich Racing LogBox M v3 kit, I finally finished dialling in the AutoTune on my ZX-14R with the Yoshimura R-77 4-1 full system. To get it perfect, I had a professional shop laser-weld a new bung into the exhaust for the Wideband O2 sensor. It cost a few extra bucks, but the result is absolutely worth it.

The process does require some patience to learn the software functions, and you’ll need to put in some miles on the road to log the data if you don't have access to a dyno, but the end result is excellent. The engine feels much stronger with instant, punchy acceleration, runs cooler, and is silky smooth at low RPMs. The Woolich Racing system is truly top-tier!

The target AFR table is mystery #1. How did you choose your AFR numbers? Mystery #2 is an even bigger mystery: timing. Did you mess with timing at all?

Thanks, Rook.
For the target AFR table, I didn't start from scratch. I used a solid baseline map and adjusted the targets based on standard safe zones for the ZX-14R with a full exhaust. For the cruising and low-load areas (the vacuum columns on the left), I aimed for around 13.2 to 13.5 to keep it smooth and efficient. For high-load and Wide Open Throttle (WOT), I went with a safer, richer target of 12.8 to 13.0 to maximize power from the Yoshimura 4-1 while keeping engine temps under control.
As for timing—no, I haven't touched the ignition maps at all. The stock timing on these bikes is already quite advanced, and since AutoTune is purely for fueling, I wanted to get the AFR completely dialed in first. Fixing the fueling alone completely transformed how the bike pulls, so I didn't see a need to mess with timing for street use.
