Cheaper helmets have one size shell and adjust foam thickness for sizing. Shoei , Arai and some others have different shell sizes. I have a new Shoei RF 1100.
Nice looking, Vents okay.
All and all, just as noisy, a bit heavier and not as well ventilated as my old Icon Domain which was 100 cheaper.. And Icon sota seems like a "mostly for looks" brand IMO. I think just about any approved helmet is going to be as good as the next. Buy what fits and looks cool. Or buy for the name. They all are going to let you down if you hit your head squarely going over 35 mph.

Well, Shoei X-12 Martyr. This is the lightest, best ventilating and comfortable helmet I've ever had actually on sale at Revzilla for $569. Also have 3 more, Joe Rocket Stain actually all Joe rocket and Icon helmets are made by HJC. The JR is my everyday helmet only paid $100 for it so dont mind if it gets scratched. Scorpion 500 chameleon awesome graphics heavier than the shoei good ventilation pressed on the top of my forehead and gave me a headache after a long ride. Took the liner out and cut a little of the foam off at the forehead area it's fine now. Caberg flip face kinda heavy but the flip face comes in handy in the summer at a stoplight or going through drive thru. Ranking them 1-4.
1. shoei
2. hjc
3. scorpion
4. caberg
This is just my opinion on these 4 I'm a closeout shopper. amazon, motorcyclegear.com, revzilla, motorcyclecloseouts.com these are all good sites. Mack

I have everything from cheap to expensive. Arai Corsair V is the best in my opinion! Don't like the RF 1100 but will buy an X12 soon!

Vemar...weight....1200 grams.Autoclave produced under Military Specs.Production runs...2 a day.Cost....1000.00(got the last run of this size...500.00)
Comparing with my Arai Profile force(565.00)....like night and day.The Vemar takes top seat.Once you wear one of these...you will be ruined for life

Oh no, another new helmet thread. Whats wrong with the ones that are already here and 20 or so pages long? LOL.Nobody wants to read them all so start a new one!! or it is too hard to find them without a built in search on the site. VERY EASY to Google these things folks. That is the same thing as an onsite search.
Just type in your search bar:
ZX-14 forum "whatever topic you want to search for"
ZX-14 forum helmets
gives you this
Clicky ity CLICK, got yourself 4,5 threads right off. HAppy reading.
hit the bottom link and you have a plethora of helmet know how.

These things don't evolve all that much. Still mostly the same lids as 4 years ago. DO we even need a forum any more?? Just search.
But I like to talk to. Nobody ever reposts, the RoOKstER gets mighty quiet.

There are photos of blue's Vemar on most of those threads in the lists that I have linked to above! That helmet is everywhere. That is one photogenic lid you got there, blue!

yeah, I remember there was a real dry spell for a while. It was like you and me could post to each other at the same time and almost use a thread as chat because no one else was going to coment.
You know...the whole Jeffo deal?Funny stuff right there.NOw that is very funny when I think about it. A bunch of people can get their undies in a bundle over a forum thread and take a hike! I stayed out of that one.

I believe there would be more posts in the forum if thread you replied to sent you a ping to your E-Mail.
I'm still getting thread notices on other forums but never here mainly because you have to subscribe, over there it's any thread that you have replied to then you must unsubscribe. Some of their old threads get brought back to life dozens of times, here we get duplicates and people get missed. Sorry.
There have been lots of replies that I 4 one have missed mostly just because I didn't see the members reply to the post
Whoooops.
