Clutches
08/14/17 11:58 AM

Just recently went over 11000 miles on my 2012 ZX14R. Set on Full no traction control. Takes off fine but if i throttle hard the RPM's run up like the tire is breaking loose, but it is not. This seems to be a clutch issue to me but would like to clarify with some more knowledgeable riders.

Your symptoms sound just like mine. Do you have Pazzo levers? Were you feeling a click when the lever was pulled? My Pazzo clutch lever caused slippage after 15,000 miles. A lot of highway miles with little clutch use. The bushing was seized and the pushrod was being held in slightly all the time. I Put the OEM back on and it has been fine ever since. Check the pushpin that sticks out of the MC. It probably has a groove worn in it. Should still work but probably best to replace some day.
