I havent seen the bike yet.... Cant remember anything prior to the emergency room.

Mashed CF helmet, rashed gear, 3 broken ribs, concusion and some road rash. Really bummed out about the bike though. First wreck in 24 years.

BIG RED HAS BEEN TOTALED.... I cant believe this beauty with 4.3K miles is salvage. Not sure what to do, but it doesnt make much sense to buy back an 06 and end up with a salvage titled vehicle.

Sounds like you took a beating but will recover fine. I believe I remember reading your your posts from way back.. You must have gotten a lot of miles out the bike. Let's hope for many more. Glad you had gear on.

Bum Ear when you hear those. So, was it a cager, pothole, night time? 3 ribs and rash means haul inn ass.

I'm thanful that it wasn't worse for me, kind of scary cause i dont know what happened, no witnesses, no memory.
I love my bike though, it was flawless. My son is going to check on it first thing in the morning.
The ZX14 is a great bike and percocet's are fun too!

I totaled my '09 Candy Lime Green 14 last September - hard left lean into some loose gravel. Broke my right hand, bruised ribs, but was wearing full gear including textile pants (thank God). I'm glad to hear you're alive and breathing. It could have been so much worse. I now have the SE '09 Orange/Black 14 thanks to full comp/collision insurance. I'll ride til I die or something else kills me, obviously. I'm literally obsessed with my 14 and can't imagine not having one at this point in my life. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery, God willing. If you're anything like me, you don't like sitting still, but I don't need to tell you that taking a chill pill right now is the best way to recover, hard as it was for me. I had a couple broke ribs and a concussion once. It hurts the worst when you are ralphing because of your concussion don't it? It will probably take about two weeks for the concussion to go away. Once thats gone things will get alot easier. Well thank god you had gear on. Sorry for your misfortune and I wish you a speedy recovery.

Get well soon!! Be glad it did not puncture your lung, chest tubes suck!! I got sent home with a chest tube in for 2 weeks, still rode my bike with it in, not smart but I could not stay off the thing, thank God for pain drugs.

Thank God you had your gear on and thanks for posting as we all are itching to hop on our bikes at the first sing of a warm day. And this remindes us that no matter how careful you might be something can happen to you that you have little or no control over. seams the only way to be safe now-a-days is to have the best gear your money can buy.
When I see or hear of a fellow biker going down it kinda nipps at something in my throat I think it's called a Frog but that feeling is allways softened when I see that the guy is still alive. GOD speed on your recovery XXX's

May god provide you a speedy recovery. Hopefully someone learns from this morfutune and wears proper gear everytime they ride. I would love to see the condition of the gear you were wearing in the accident if you ever get a chance to take some pics of it.

Thanks to all for the kind well wishes, what a great group of people in this forum. Feeling much better today, and I talked to the M/C shop today, they are expecting to see the claims adjuster tomorrow. (Thursday)

I have spent the last two days waying the options, and for me, the 14 is my best option. I wont be changing models,
maybe just getting another one.
