I thought I would put this out there and see what you guys think. I've been driving sports cars for most of my adult life and I'm pretty comfortable moving rapidly through highway traffic when conditions permit - namely when some jerkwad isn't hogging the left-hand lane. As I find myself getting more comfortable with the '14 in general (I've put about 700 miles on it in the past three weeks), I find myself wanting to drive pretty much the same way as I do when I'm in my 4 wheelers. This means if the traffic generally flows around 80 (which is pretty much the norm when the roads aren't clogged), I find myself wanting to go around 90. I pretty much follow the same routine as when I'm driving my car as far as keeping a sufficient cushion between myself and other motorists, anticipating others' reactions, looking for hazards on the road and so forth. Now, I know that a bike is not a car and I know there are more factors to be considered other than those that I am aware of. So given a speed of, say, 90MPH on a bike (assuming a highway with good surface and visibility), what are some the things I should watch out for traveling at this clip?
Some (obvious) things I've thought of
1. Wind gusts
2. Not being visible enough to other drivers in order to keep them from pulling out in front of me
3. Road debris that would not be a problem for a car but could be very bad for a bike
Thanks...
