I am taking a little trip next week to ride the Dragon, also there is The Blue Ridge skyway I believe I am going to try to hit.. Does anyone have any advice on some other fun roads in the general area? How about nice motels as well?

IF you can get a room at the Deals Gap Motel then that’s the place to stay they have everything you need. The best part is everybody that rides the area stops there during the course of the day. The Dragon is cool but there are tons of roads that are better INMOP. If you stay at the motel the staff will gladly tell you all the best spots to ride. I only ride the dragon after 6pm during the weekday and not at all on the weekends any other time all the nut jobs, cops and other people that should not be on bikes are out. The second best spot is the Twowheel inn they have garages for your bikes and there is less activity than the Deals Gap Motel ifn case you want to relax a little. If you stay at the Deals Gap Motel make sure you have have all the beer and food you need before they close. The motel sales a great breakfast and lunch at a really fair price oh and beer by the cup only. Once it gets dark you are pretty much stuck at the motel for the night unless you want to ride over the dragon at night. I rode my bike one year from IL and it was a blast we stopped in Lexington KY and stayed at a Days Inn that was next door to the Spearmint Rhino all I remember from that night is drinking lots of Fosters, Jose Cuervo and stripers. The entire area is all about ridding there is not really much else to do and that’s not a problem for me. It’s by far the most beautiful place in this country I have ever been. Just becareful there are lots of place to get in over your head my buddy took a helicopter ride of the dragon last year

How in the world did you convince the hotel staff to park your bike in your room?! lol...
Oh thats simple I don't ask them,I insist on a ground floor room away from the check-in office and I pay in cash. I love the look on the faces of the maid staff when I push two hulking bikes out of a room the size of a shoe box.

Ride over the Cherohola skyway (143 in NC 165 in TN) to Telico Plains TN and then take 68 down to Ducktown and West on 64 down the Ocoee river with lots of white water rafting then take a right on 30 towards Reliance and a right on 315 crossing the Hiawassee river and then at the stop sign right on 39 to take you right back to 68 at Telico Plains. Nice big curvy loop. should be able to trace on google maps.
