God what a pc of crap. To start with I have a 2009 K1300GT beemer 2008 ZX14 3 Kawi ZRX's the wifes 2007 919 Honda because she has blown the right knee out twice and cannot hold her bike up anymore. Along with those is her uncles 2008 SuperGlyde that is fkn nice looking.
I rode the HD into work today just to be different and different it is. I may love the bike but it is real disenheartening once the leg goes over it.

It is no wonder he rides my ZRX's and the 14 and has the HD for sale.

Hope the HD sells because the extra room in the gayrage would be nice.

Oh boy, another H-D bashing thread...I love these!! H-D, I've said it before and I'll say it again, greatest marketing scam...err I mean scheme in history.

With all of the talk in the news lately about the Bernie Madoff and Social Security Ponzi schemes it suddenly occurred to me that H-D shares a lot in common with those guys. You have to keep bringing in more and more idiots on the bottom who are willing to buy in at over-inflated prices to keep the price of the used junk intact. This keeps the myth alive that Harley's never lose their value. It's just another bubble from the bubble epoque and when this bubble finally pops you won't be able to give that junk away. Watch and see if I'm not right on this.

I am only knocking it compared to my other bikes BUT if you just want a no frills ride thru the country or around town it is a nice bike.

Last May a buddy of mine flew in from California for the weekend. We rented him an '09 H-D RoadKill from Eagle Rider, I rode my VTX 1300C. He hated the RoadKill, thought it was the biggest pile of doo doo he'd ever ridden. Every time we'd stop he'd comment on how much more agile my VTX was in the twisties, he couldn't even keep me in sight. He also noticed you could balance a quarter on my aircleaner cover and it wouldn't fall off at idle, the RoadKing's engine by constrast looked like it was going to jump out of the frame on those rubber mounts. Bottom line, he said he'd never rent another. You can shop elsewhere and get a lot more motorcycle for your money. This is just my opinion and nobody has to agree with me, if bling is your thing buy one!

I think if this SuperGlyde had some decent tires on it instead of the rock hard HD tires it would make the ride a little more fun.
The HD is not supposed to compete with ricers in ride and performance. This bike is way to many dollars for what it gives but hey you also get the HD lifestyle. The owner of this bike rides with the half helmet and chaps to fit the HD way but when he is on one of my ricers it is full face, gloves and flak jacket.

On the other hand I have not been accepted into the beemer world because I am not fashion concious and think ricers are faster than beemers.

Yea, I hear ya lytnin, I guess I just never bought into the "lifestyle" thing. I have only so many dollars to spend on my rides and I'm always lookin to maximize my "bang for the buck". To each his own though, I'm not going to try and tell someone esle how to spend their money. Good luck with the sale, it's a tough market out there right now.

He was on my 14 and I was on my little street peeler ZRX1200 when I did a low speed 1st gear blast off the exit ramp onto the highway. He chased me down in 3d gear which as we all know is well over a 100 mph. When we got back to the house I told him that was his last ride on the 14 just because he was stupid enuf to beat me with my own bike.

He said he was SHURE if we raced again I would win so caould he please still get to ride the 14. I am a softie and said ok if he really means it.

If I ever get where I want a bike with no power, no handling, and no brakes put together with Ace Hardware nuts and bolts I'll buy a Harley.

I thought for sure the Harley bubble would have burst by now, defies all logic but those cagey fellas at H-D have cut production to the bone and kept the prices high. You gotta give them credit, they now how to play the game better than anyone else.
