Hi guys. I have a 2008 zx14 and looking to put a exhaust on. So the question is it necessary to use a power-commander with just slip ons? If not will she run ok or not? Thinking about leo vince any body have these on their ride?

mmmmmmm-HM, uuuh-huh. Don't follow the forums if you want to save money.
The decision is really all yours, pghzx14. The blue pill or the red pill. Take your choice.
welcome. ;)

It is so true---you can be happy riding a stock bike if you never want to know what modding is all about. If you choose to learn the secrets you can never go back.

buy the pc3 first b4 anything else. forget the slip-ons few hundred $$$ more and you can get a full system (that youll end up getting anyways) trust me youll be happier with the full system. I spent $600 on slip=ons only to 6 months later spend another $2000 for my ct duals. not saying a full system is gonna cost ya 2k there are others out there for around a grand. good luck with whatever you decide.
imo take the red pill lmao

You can put the PC on first and get a little familiar with how it works. You can load a DJ map for a stock zx14 and it will make a slight improvement. My first performance mod was a PC5 ---which was and is the latest--seemed to be capable of more fine tuning (if you get into it enough to figure all of that tuning business out) and just a little more expensive than the PC3.
+1 on the full system. I'm glad I went that way as soon as I could afford an aftermarket exhaust. Slipons are fine but a good full system will optimize all that engine you paid for.
TAKE RED PILL.........or wake up in your bed thinking this was all a dream.

You have dynojet for $400 and you have innovate for $250. You have a faster sample rate with innovate. You can find a spark miss with Inn's software. Dynomiss ain't happening with that option screen. YOu want to know if you have a safe ratio? There you go. Crazy prices with more options it's a no brainer.

runnerhiker, first of all, WHY take it off? but, if you want to, the stock ECU wasn't changed by the PCV. If you remove the PCV, it reverts to stock tuning. No more of a need to re-tune than if you bought it new.
pgh, slip-ons will not dramatically change the performance of the bike, however, as hub said, ANY bike will benefit from a PC and re-tune. But, you do not NEED it any more than you NEED the slip-ons, lol.
If you do get slip-ons, you will enjoy the sound and slight performance advantage, however, I am sure that eventually you will want the additional performance and weight savings of a full exhaust. Really, it is up to you what you really want out of your bike. I rode mine for only 100 miles before I dropped a load of weight going with a full Brock's exhaust and saw noticeable improvement in handling and, I am sure, increased hp. Others prefer the look and sound of dual exhaust and a set of slip-ons may make more sense for you.
