I was talking to my co-worker today about my bike and told him i wanted a louder exhaust. He suggested that if i wanted to save money i could just remove the muffler. Wouldn't that do more harm than good?

I have been told that all that they do with a Yoshi is take the back cone off and grab the noise baffle with a pair of pliers and bend it up and down until the metal cracks. Put the cone back on.
I have no idea how much a noise baffle obstructs exhaust flow but it is conceivable that it might alter your AFR. I have not heard of anyone getting a tune to adjust for noise baffle removal. Prolly affects flow less than an aftermarket air filter and there is no change in the tune necessary for that by itself..

And once again your co-worker did not lie sincs all you stated was you wanted noise............
2008 - gutted stock header with right side only slip on - TRE - +2 degree advancer - PC5 - dyno tune = 175 RWHP
Really tame sound until the loud handle is twisted and have since put a Leo Vince full system on with holes all over the power band. Needs a dyno tune but this time with the silencer in
