Best place to get a new battery?
11/10/09 6:37 AM

Where's the cheapest place to get a new battery for the 14? My '06 only has 7500 miles on it, and the battery is pretty much cashed, probably from non-use. I had to push-start the damn thing the other day, and push-starting this bike SUCKS 'cause you can only use 1st gear because of the positive neutral-finder! 2nd or 3rd gear is always much easier...

I'm looking for a battery myself. Anybody want to chime in?

Looks like the Westco price is $79.95 and it's 11.1 lbs. Speedcell would be nice for the weight savings (1.7 lbs.?), but it's quite expensive, and I'm not sure it would be a reliable starter. Anyone have long-term use with a Speedcell?

Mass has had one for a year now. I'll be getting one when my battery is dead some day. That's a good chunk of high riding weight to dump off the bike. Why replace stock with stock????? The stocker is used up so I would spend a few extra bucks and make it an upgrade rather than just a maintenance expense.

Be sure and use a a battery tender type of charger on your bike when not riding, you're battery will last an unbelievable amount longer
