I have a 06 ZX14 and around town it will run in the 3rd and 4th bar on the temp gauge is this normal? Freeway is fine.

Pretty much normal. Look around, no overheating problems with any year, 1 fan or 2 behind the radiator. Only overheating 14 I know of was the bike stayed stationary for awhile and blew lunch on the floor, meaning, no blown head gasket, but an air cooled bike, even with a radiator still needs moving air to cool off.

Normal.Probably even a little hotter with stock exhaust.
