my personal oil testing
08/02/09 10:50 PM

for the rotella guys .. after 3 oil runs and changes with rotella .. my engine sounds alot quieter with the moblie 1 then the rotella ... also pick -up 400rpm at idle on the oil change .. had to turn the idle down right after starting -up bike after oil change ..

that my moblie1 10w 40 vs 5w 40 rotella test ..

Thank you, 1bad. I was thinking about trying Mobil 1 next time. After 1000 miles on the dino oil I'm currently running, I can't tell much dif from the Repsol 4T I had in last time. The Repsol was really nice but it didn't seem to last long at all. Smooth is great but it's gotta last 3,000 miles for what it costs for full synthetic.

I tested Rotella Sync. once. It failed miserably in a car, an experience I have posted about. That witch brew will not get anywhere close to engine oil sumps on my bikes, nor any cars again, ever.

i change my oil about every 30 passes and at 22.00 for 3.78 liters vs 19.00 for 3.78 liters .. i'm gonna spend the 3.00 bucks more for Mobile 1 after this testing .. sorry shell but your oil is sub-par at best ..

oil filters i use a 13.00 mobile filter M1-108 cause its short .. the fram motorcycle filter ph-18 or ph-17 i think is 9.93 and i have to remove my waste gate arm to install it ..same as an OEM 11.50 .. so i don't just buy cause of price on things

i been changing oil on a hiyabooza and is mess-up on the fram numbers now ..

Yea, that Rotella stuff really sux! I recently changed over to Pep Boys 10w-40, idle speed went up nearly 2000 rpm, I spun the rollers off a dyno and I can't keep a back tire on the bike now.

I change my oil when it rains. I scoop up the oil film that lays above the water. I then fill my crankcase with the water. I know water is heavier than oil, so I let the water drain until I see the water change to oil and then tighten the drain bolt.

I don't know who's oil val deezzzzz that was laying on the road till now, but wear out have you been, Kruz? Bad getting the better of you?

Time in Milwaukee / jail time - pretty much the same thing. Good riding, yeah, I guess but the worst time to go out for a fast ride is on a clear, warm afternoon. The twisties in the Western burbs are clogged with Hardlys often doing under the speed limit. November to December is the best time to ride. It's not all that cold a few hours after sunrise.

Ever heard a device called GPS tracking system and are you afraid of being tracked by it? If you want to prevent this thing happen on you, then you it is an ideal choice to come and start your first step with the best GPS jammer, then the problem can be easily solved and you can live relaxed.

Okay so I just did my first oil change with my bike and switched to the rotella T6 synthetic stuff. One reason is becuase when I used to have a FZ1 and was a regular on the FZ1 owners forums, they all swore by it. I used to run the mobile 1 fully synthetic stuff from walmart because it was non-energy conserving and worked great in that bike. The mobile one stuff at walmart for autos is now energy conserving and I didn't want to use it my ZX14. I know these oil threads get a little carried away so I just wanted to add that the first ride last week after putting in the Rotella synthetic I noticed my engine being allot quiter. So is this for real that the Rotella is garbage?

A lot of people swear by it. Will it make your motor grenade? No. Will I use it in my 14? Not a chance. If I was stuck for oil and had nothing else, sure, but it would get dumped the moment I had better oil.

The reason it seams quieter is because of the fresh oil, not that it's Rotella T6. Run it for a full oil change or two and see which oil feels better. I know on my old bike that after 3-4000 miles the T6 started feeling sluggish. Where as my current fav oil feels the same throughout its use.

Thanks for reviving the old thread, SPAMBOT!

I have been using Rotella for at least 2 years and 20000 miles. IMHO, it is no better than fresh dino oil. It might last a bit longer...IDK.. I don't really care because Rotella is synthetic that is cheap enough to change as often as dino. I change every 2500.
